Why does it have to be so difficult?

Is it just me or does everyone have a difficult time when calling a doctor's office to schedule an appointment? I just really, really dislike the receptionist (or whatever her title is - I honestly don't know) at my doctor's office. She gave us grief my entire pregnancy and it continues now. Dh went to all the appointments with me just as he had done with ds1 (had a different doctor then). We would tell this girl time after time we needed one of the first appointments of the day (9:15 or 9:30) due to dh's work schedule and she would consistently try to give us 9:45, 10:00, or later instead. What doesn't she understand when someone stands there and tells her a specific time?
Now I'm going through it again. I had to call and reschedule an upcoming appointment this morning due to a conflict that has come up. I told her right off the bat that I needed a 9:30 appointment. Instead I got offered a 9:45 or a 10:00.
I've never had this happen at any other doctor's office, but then again we rarely go to the doctor. I'm wondering if this is what all the offices are coming to.
If you're reading this and wondering what's the big deal between 9:30 and 9:45 - it's just 15 minutes........ well, I learned during my previous appointments (some were at 9:45) that it makes a huge difference. A 9:30 appointment gets called back on time and is seen immediately. Every time I had a 9:45 appointment I would be called back somewhat on time, but then waited until 10:30 or later to see the doctor. That cuts into dh's work schedule too much and since he'll be the one keeping the kiddos while I'm there I have to take the time of the appointment heavily into consideration.
It's just so very frustrating for me dealing with this particular person. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 152 of 225 } { Next Page } |
