My dh has amazed me

When my dh sets his mind to do something, he is a wonder!  We decided to screen in the back porch and to do it the correct way from the start instead of the quick fix idea we had the other day (heavy guage chicken wire).  The dogs will be moving out there permanently (or if we remain in this house, at least until ds2 is older and not crawling or sticking everything in his mouth).

Dh and ds1 went today to buy paint for the interior rooms we're currently working on and after they came home they went outside and slaved away until just a bit ago.  I am amazed at how much was accomplished.  They have 650+ square feet of space to enclose and dh is doing a 4 foot high kickplate of sorts all the way around and then screening from there up.  With this now being a heavily hurricane prone area, and the back porch facing the east so it gets the first brunt of any storm, dh is building it very sturdily out of treated wood and stucco-finish hardyboard (spelling?).  He's making it much nicer than any screened porch we've ever had in previous houses.

I'm so glad he's doing the work himself and has the ability and motivation to do so.  He's a true blessing and I don't tell him that often enough.

I'm the same way Kim, I never say thank you enough to dh for all he does around here. We do have great guys.
