Studying God's Love, part 1

I'm finally sitting myself down to do a study on God's Love.  Just what does it mean that God loves me? - I need to remind myself.

In Your unfailing love You will lead the people You have redeemed.  In Your strength You will guide them to Your holy dwelling.

Exodus 15:13

Love..

A.) An intense affection for another person.

B.) The deep affection, tenderness, and concern felt for a person with whom one has or wishes to have a relationship.

C.) An intense emotional attachment.

Unfailing..

A.) Inexhaustible.

B.) Constant.

God has an intense affection for me, a tenderness for me, a concern for me, and an intense emotional attachment to me.  He wishes to have a relationship with me!  His love is inexhaustible and constant.

And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin."

Exodus 34:6-7a

The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.

Numbers 14:18

Abounding..

To be great in number or amount.

Maintaining..

A.) To continue or carry on.

B.) To provide for.

C.) To defend, as against danger or attack.

D.) To declare to be true.

God's love for me is great in amount.  His love for me carries on.  In His love he provides for me and defends me.  He declares His love for me.
