HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 2008 and 2009 is even better.  I can remember when I was waiting for 2000 to arrive and we were all waiting for the dreaded "blackout" because of the high tech everything now, but everything came in smoothly, didn't it?

Now all I have to remember to do is write 2009 on my checks.  We are having our 2009 dinner at noon today, my son in law Bill has to be at work by 4, he's a police officer.  I don't even think I shared that with anyone, but I plan on updating my blog much much more this year, so stay tuned.

Our 2009 menu consists of

Pork

Sauerkraut

Mashed potato's

corn

green beans

rolls

and my daughters are bringing dessert.

Not fancy but delicious.  I will be feeding 14 today with everyone.  Then we will be playing WII, I bought this for John for Christmas, (I saved my pennies through the year) and went to Costco's and found them. He has been wanting to loose some weight, and this is a great thing to use.  I know a lady who lost 50 lbs boxing with her WII, and it does work, you just have to use it.  We have had lots of fun, bowling, baseball, tennis and my friend Judy has lent me a bunch of games to see what we like, then I will try to go to "gamestop" and find some used games that we like.  So far we seem to like the disc of sports games that came with the WII, so we'll see.  Judy does have a guitar and drum set that she uses with her system and Saturday night we went up there for dessert and John and her husband Andy played and they had a great time.  So maybe one day..

Christmas day was also my honey's 49th birthday.. We have been together since we are 16, and I have been truly blessed by this loving caring man I am now proud to say I have been married to for over 31 years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY...

John is officially laid off from his job till the end of March probably.  Although they are trying to give the guys they needed to lay off one day a week work atleast.  So actually that doesn't cut into the "budget" to much since he can collect also.  Hopefully things get better for our economy.  He's in the "construction" bussiness, he drives dump trucks which he truly loves.  So hopefully things get better for everyone, everywhere this coming new year.

This coming new year, I would love to post some deals I get at grocery stores, maybe try and post deals for you if you have CVS's, Walgreens, Rite aid....if anyone is interested?  Let me know, I will do that, if not I know we are all busy, but if I could help you save a little money in these times, I will really try... just give me some feedback on here.

I also would like to add to my recipes.  I will work on that also.  I need to take some pictures too and post those also.

I would like to welcome any input on anything you would like to see on my blog, that is if anybody still reads my blog, the last 2 months or so I have't been keeping up with many other's blogs just a handful.  But I plan on trying to make this part of my daily routine, as I did when I first started.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS.

Your new years menu sounds yummy to me. Here in the South the traditional meal is black eye peas, cabbage, rice & cornbread.

Hope you have a blessed 2009.

We are currently a family of 5. My husband John, and our 2 sons, John and Anthony and our daughter Amanda. We have 4 other children, who all have grown and moved out. We are blessed with 2 wonderful grandsons, Jaydon and Logan, who I watch while their mommy works. Jaydon is in school all day and Logan attends pre-school right now. We are in the process of remodeling our home, and doing our kitchen which is the last that needs to be done. As I type this John is putting up the tiles on the backsplash. He is almost done with our kitchen and he has done a terrific job.I enjoy couponing, bargain hunting, cooking and spending time with my family. Why don't you come on in and enjoy a cup of tea and read some of my blog. Thank you for taking the time to stop in.
