Once in a while, the carpets need a good freshening.  Don't go to the store for a box of that expensive, chemical-filled carpet cleaner!  Mix this up and do it yourself for pennies!

Homemade Carpet Freshener
1 1/2 cup baking soda
3/4 cup cornstarch OR salt
3/4 cups crushed lavender buds (or a few tbsps ground cinnamon, or some rosemary...use what you love!)

Blend, then sprinkle on the carpets and let sit for at least an hour.  Vacuum well.

I just wanted to tell you thanks for this post, I'm gonna try! I also made one of your recipes this evening and it was WONDERFUL...cheesecake cookies...I will try to remember to add pic on my blog w/link to your recipe tomorrow. WOW were they good! I'm now going to go get a piece and add some strawberries I'd put in fridge w/sugar a couple days ago!!!
