I just downloaded recipe but you know I can't find washing soda any where in my neck of the woods..MAine..

I do the powder form too, but I grate four bars of soap and throw in both boxes of powder. I use one two tablespoon scoop per load. This mixture last me forever...........Kitty

I couldn't find any in my area of CA, either, but I found the chemical (Sodium carbonate) in my local pool supply store. It's also called Soda Ash and the chemical symbol is Na2CO3. I hope that helps!

I have made this in the past many times & it is great for people with sensative skin.
My question is you say you use it in a front loader? I recently bought one & I was afraid to try it for fear it would not work or harm the machine so I bought detergent for the first time in a long time.
Have you used it for a while & have you noticed any problems? Thanks.

I've used an entire batch...for maybe a month, and have noticed no problems. I'm making it again today, as I am out.

I'm using Zote Soap this time, and 1 1/2 cups each borax and washing sodas. I am also going to add 1 1/2 cups baking soda, as I read was used in another recipe, and we'll see how that works!

Next time I'm out, I'll be able to tell which recipe works better!
