Use as much as you do of regular softener, and in the same manner.

I have found it reduces the static to an acceptable level. Our laundry is quite static-y if I use nothing...but I hate all the chemicals involved with regular fabric softeners!

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but do you use the fabric softener in the washer or the dryer? If in the dryer how to you use it since it's a liquid? We have the worst static, and I need an inexpensive fabric softener!

Please, ask anything you need an answer for! None of knew anything before asking!! I didn't know how to cook anything but boxed mac and cheese and *shudder* Top Ramen when I was first married. I couldn't keep a clean house if my life depended on it!

I use this in the washer. My machine has a little cup I fill at the beginning of the load, and it releases the softener at the right time during the wash. If you have an older machine without this feature, you can get a "Downey Ball" that you fill with the liquid and throw into the washer. It will release the softener at the correct time, as well.

Thanks! That's what I needed to know. My washer does have the little front cup thingy. (I usually put my bleach in there for my white loads). I am eager to try it out. Too bad laundry day was yesterday!
