Posted in Contests

I wanted to do something special in honor of my 200th post on here so I have come up with the perfect idea..

I love to cook and recieve recipes.. I am going to ask that you post a comment with your fave recipe in it and then I will draw a name on Sunday or Monday and I will send the winner of the drawing an apron like I have been making.. I think this is fun and easy and would like to bless someone on here the way I have been blessed..

So get to posting comments and recipes.. If you post more than one comment and recipe then you will get more than one entry,,,

Have a great day..

BTW Amy Jo.. AKA Gabbie 427 you can't enter, but you can send me more recipes... LOL For those of you who do not know she and I are best friend in real life and make things together sometimes..

God Bless,

Mars

1 t. salt
1/4 t. garlic powder
3/4 c. bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 small onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 - 3/4 c. water

This is my favorite spaghetti sauce recipe.... my littles love it as well:

Sweet and Spicy Spaghetti Sauce

2 cans tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 lb ground beef (or chicken, turkey, deer)
Oregano
Thyme
Italian Seasoning
Marjoram
Basil
Onion Flakes
Red Pepper Flakes
Brown Sugar

Brown gr.beef in skillet- season meat while browning with Italian Seasoning, Oregano, and Onion Flakes (about 1 teaspoon of each).
While meat is browning, grab a large pot and put tomato sauce and tomato paste in- heat over medium heat until heated through.
When meat is browned, drain excess grease and add to the pot of tomato sauce. Add Oregano, Thyme, Italian Seasoning, Basil and Marjoram (about 1 1/2 tsp. for each except Marjoram- only 1/2 tsp. of Marjoram). Once well heated and mixed- about 15 minutes- add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp. of red pepper flakes (more if you really like the heat)- stir until brown sugar is dissolved.
Simmer over medium-low heat for at least 30 minutes.
We use whole wheat pasta, but any pasta will work- be sure to salt the water well before adding the pasta-stir well while pasta is boiling.
Mix spaghetti noodles and sauce and top with fresh grated parmesan cheese.

Enjoy!!

I just recently found this recipe at Epicurious.com. It is so quick and easy to make, and so delicious. Give it a try!

Jam Crumb Cake

Ingredients

For cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 stick unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1/2 cup raspberry jam or preserves

For crumb topping:
3/4 stick unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 400°F with rack in middle. Generously butter a 9-inch square or round cake pan.
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Whisk together butter, milk, and egg in a large bowl, then whisk in flour mixture until just combined.
Pour batter into cake pan. Dollop jam all over surface, then swirl into batter with spoon.

Make crumb topping:
Whisk together butter, sugars, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Stir in flour, then blend with your
fingertips until incorporated. Sprinkle crumbs in large clumps over top of cake.
Bake cake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean and sides begin to pull away from
pan, about 25 minutes. Cool in pan on a rack 5 minutes.

Enjoy! And thank you Mars for hosting this contest. :)

Alie

Everyone loves this one.

Chicken Packets

Filling:
2 cups cooked, shredded or diced chicken (or one large can of canned chicken)
2 T. green onion, chopped
2 T. milk
8 oz. cream cheese (any kind but fat free), softened
2 cans of crescent rolls

Mix all the filling ingredients. Use 1/4 cup of filling per packet. Use two crescent triangles to make a square, press edges together, place filling in center of square, fold over and seal. If you want, you can dip them in butter and then bread crumbs. If you make turnover pastry from scratch, just use this for your filling and it's more healthy then. Bake at 350 for 20 min.

Ps. I really want an apron. :)

I just thought of a couple other quick recipes I use quite often:

Easy Meatballs

1 Package Frozen Homestyle Meatballs
1 Bottle Sonny's Sweet BBQ Sauce

Combine meatballs and sauce in crockpot and cook on low all day...Yummy served with rice and a veggie.

Quick Macaroni

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup onion
2 cups hot water
1 can diced tomatoes
1/2 cup Heinz 57 sauce
2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
dash of pepper
1 cup elbow macaroni

Brown beef and onion, then drain. Stir in water, tomatoes, Heinz 57, salt, sugar, pepper, and elbow macaroni. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes uncovered. Stir occasionally until macaroni is tender. Great with salad and bread!

As a mother of a busy toddler, I am constantly trying to easy, quick, and most importantly YUMMY recipes to fix for my family. Can't wait to see the other recipes people leave...I love getting new ideas! Take Care!
