I was sitting outside in my chair listening to the crickets, locusts, and etc and it brought back many memories..
I remember when sitting on the porch listening to the outdoor sounds in the evening was cool, but that has long since been replaced by whatever reality tv show is on that night.. Well sit outside and you will see reality..
I remember when I was a kid I could entertain myself and now my kids are bored all the time as are the neighbor kids.. Our kids do not use their imaginations anymore as they have to much tv and computer time so it is all put into their heads good or bad...
I remember when you said please, thank you, yes madam and yes sir instead of snarling or complaining or mouthing back, for when I was younger you were afraid to not have manners.
I remember as a youngun that if you misbehaved you got into trouble and if your hiney needed a swat or two your parents were not afraid to do it. Now you even say you might swat and kids yell child abuse.
I remember when I was younger when you stayed over night with friends their parents were like your parents and if you needed to get in trouble they had permission. No you wonder what the heck is going on..
I remember families spending more time with one another. Now a days we get so busy we meet ourselves coming and going. Where has family time gone. Life was mush better when we had time to spend with one another having fun together and loving those in our family.
I remember as children we would hang out at the skating rink on Friday or Saturday nights with friends and plenty of adults because there was something to do, now we have taken all the fun things away and made it so our kids think there is nothing to do, but party.
I remember our youth group was always doing things with us and working with us, now it is hard to find people who truly enjoy working with youth and I believe that part of that is that kids have no respect anymore for the elders and want to complain instead of trying things and enjoying.
I remember when Sunday School and Church were just what you did on Sunday morning, then you had a family dinner and attended night service. God was inportant and you knew it
I remember when your friends were your friends and things in life seemed good. We were free to be kids and now it seems as though we teach our kids to grow up nad become responsible faster.
I remember the good days of being a child and hope that my kids will someday talk about the good and fun things they did as children and how inportant God is. If it were not for God we would not be here.. Let us take time to place Him first in our lives and to make life simple again..
Good Night and God Bless,
