My friend Anna and I went thrift store shopping Friday and got all kinds of bargains.. We went to a new thrift shop and they were having a DOLLAR a bag sale.. Well let me tell you that I hit pay dirt there.. I ended up with 5 or 6 bags of nice mostly name brand clothes for the kids and I.. I ended up with 2 like new pairs of Nike shoes and some Polo shirts and etc.. Jacob needed some long sleeved shirts for the fall and winter and I got him a bunch of stuff along with Jeremiah and the girls some things.. I got the girls jeans at a garage sale for $1 a pair and they were nice like new jeans..

We are set on fall and winter things. I need to get a couple of coats and some extra hats and gloves and we need some snow boots, but that will cover us..  The kids are all excited..

You know a few years ago my kids had a teacher who would make snide comments to others that my kids always had on nice name brand clothes, but they new since I was a stay at home mom and such that we could not afford all of that afterall my kids did get free lunches.. One of the other kids had a teacher that was a friend of mine that said to her.." They do not buy it brand new Marcia goes to thrift stores, garages sales and buys things on clearance. She told her I knew how to stretch a buck and that it was really none of her business.

It goes back to the old don't judge the book by it's cover.. I wanted my kids to look nice and have nice things, but I could not afford to buy it brand new and so I did the best I could.. I take my money and stretch it so thin and far that you can read small print through each bill.. :) I am proud of my abilities to do that and as a single mom going to college I need to be able to do that... Just because someone has something nice doesn't mean they have money and bought it out right full price..  Just like because someone doesn't have nice things doesn't mean they are poor and can't afford it.. Don't Judge lest ye be judged..
