I have some tomato sauce simmering on the stove right now.  What a mess I made!! 

 I made the mistake of grabbing a "sweet" red pepper from my garden.  I found out the hard way, that it wasn't sweet, but burning hot.  Luckily, I didn't touch my eye, I just started wondering why my finger was burning.  And then I realized that all my fingers where burning.  I washed and washed my hands, but it didn't help any.  They aren't burning quite so much right now, but I can still feel it.  So, my sauce is going to have some spice to it.  Right now, I am simmering away the extra water.  I chopped up some carrots, celery, onion, peppers and a little bit of cucumber because I just have so much of it.  Put it in a sauce pan with olive oil and simmered with a lid on until soft.  Then I added chopped, skinned tomatoes fresh from the garden and some garlic and fresh chopped basil, also from the garden.  I am going to puree it in the blender a little for me and my mom, and really puree it for my hubby and kids.  Gotta get all the chunks out for them to eat it.  And then, I will freeze it, because we won't be eating it right away.  Oh, I forgot, I need to add some paste to help thicken it.... I guess I will go do that now!
