Nature Walk

So we headed out for a nature walk yesterday.  I packed everything that we would need - water, nature books, camera, bag for dog poop....  Within 2 min, the dog had pooped... in the middle of crossing the street.... D was walking with her and he was trying to drag her to the sidewalk because, fortunatly, he's smarter than the dog and knows not to stop in the middle of the street.  So I had a poop trail to pick up.  Real nice.  Two minutes after that - about 30 seconds after we hit the trail - N was complaining his feet hurt.  He had insisted on wearing his flip flops even though I warned him they would give him blisters.  So, we ditched the shoes.  Here are some pics of the things we saw on our nature walk - we couldn't find them in our nature books, so I'm not quite sure what they are....

And we came across a "creek" and saw this shiney green fish:

But once we saw this creature dart past us, we turned around and headed home:

Actually, the boys had a good time.  They were whining about not being able to go to the park and not wanting to go for a walk, but once we found the "creek" (definition: water logged area of grass), they had a blast.  And all they did was throw rocks and sticks into the water.

Your nature walk sounds like a walk around our neighborhood! Unfortunatly, that`s about all the nature I get unless I go 3 hours away to my best friends house or 1 hour to my in laws. That was a funny blog entry!
