Solomon Homestead

A chilly day on the homefront

This morning I made breakfast pockets and oatmeal. I usually don't measure ingredients when I'm cooking, only if I am following a recipe that I have never made before. There was no recipe for this one.

Breakfast pockets:

  • turkey sausage
  • organic milk
  • flour
  • 3 farm fresh eggs
  • whole wheat pita pockets
  • shredded montery jack and cheddar cheeses

Cook the turkey sausage in a skillet break it up while cooking. Add milk and flour, stir and cook till thickened. In another skillet scramble up 3 eggs. Split your pitas and fill each half with some of the sausage and gravy mixture, about half way then top with some eggs then top with cheeses. Yummy!!

We enjoyed these with a bowl of old fashioned oats cooked and  topped with raw honey and organic milk.

Lunch was a salad containing iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, baby spinach, shredded carrots, broccoli, diced boiled eggs and topped with sweet onion dressing.

The dc played board games this afternoon after our sunday bible lesson. We haven't attended our church for over a month now due to flu season. We just got tired of the kids being sick constantly. After pulling them out of church we have all remained healthy.

Dd had a tea party today with her tea set. I made molasses cookies for a warm afternoon snack. Dh watched his football games. It was a nice cozy day indoors today. It has been in the 20's here and the yard is sooo muddy.

Getting ready to start dinner and gear up for the upcoming week of school. We are going to add in a lesson on Martin Luther King jr. tomorrow. I love doing unit studies for the holidays.

There is just so much sickness going on these days. It really makes you not want to go anywhere . I am always wiping off my hands after I shop, pump gas ,etc. We have pretty much just stopped going to church ourselves for the same reason . We just have church and better family daily bible study at home . Church has become a who's here and who's not and gossip hall . Which is not what God wants in his house !! Blessing to you , Shaune
