Monday all ready! Where did the weekend go?
I set here and type out my blog on open office since the internet is down. Of course if it was up, I wouldn't be working on my blog. I would be reading the different forums, and the new paper.
Yesterday we had a wonderful time at Church. I really love our Church, and the people in it. We are studying Acts right now. This is a really neat book of the Bible to dig deeper in. Our church family comes from such a wide range of backgrounds that each one brings so much to our discussions. Then there is the food... mmmm! So many good cooks! Even our kids get into helping “cook” for Church. Yesterday mine made a fruit salad all by themselves. I didn't even look at it until they were putting it in the car. It was made of blue berries, straw berries, bananas and oranges. They were disappointed we didn't get any apples at produce this time. It seemed to be a hit. I got the last 3 bites. I had also made a big crock pot full of mash potatoes. The were all gone.
From Church we went on into town to get stuff for the pool, and some planting stuff. I want to plant some shrubs/vines/?? in front of the deck to the pool just to hide the underside of the deck. We finally decided on roses. I love taking DH shopping for stuff like that. He will spend more and buy more than I will. So we bought 5 roses bushes to plant there. We will have to keep them trimmed to keep them from getting to big. They should work well there and hide the barrenness of the underside of the deck where there is little or no sunlight and no grass.
Kids are hoping that he gets the pool clean and ready to swim in this week. I am waiting on warmer water or the solar panels to be up and running. I do have to laugh because my sissy kids didn't want to swim in the pool, it is “dirty” while they want to go play in the pond, which is DIRTY. Since I grew up swimming in cement stock tanks that were cleaned maybe every 5years, dirty is revalant, and our pool is clean by those standards.
I am not sure what our week will bring. Kids are begging me to install 5th grade on the computers. I have to laugh at this. They are excited to start. MN said she misses her 4th grade subjects. I plan on them doing some sewing, and some deeper chores/house/closet cleaning this week. Thursday is our town day. I need to see if we can move fast enough to go second hand shopping for some RV cooking pans.
Adoption is still a big prayer issues. We have less than 2 weeks to decided if we want to go ahead and go to NM or if the young lady in AR is ours for sure. Case worker in AR talks like in her mind she is fine with us. We are “perfect” for J. We are still waiting to get the file to read and talk to her therapist. I really don't feel there will be any surprises. I think if the case worker wasn't being honest then she wouldn't want us to talk to the therapist. Yes, I am skeptical and un-trusting of what case workers say. I have been involved on the adoption board to many years. Some case workers lie, most don't know the kids they are talking about, they are just reading a file. This worker seems to know her. It is such a huge life change for all of us we just want to be sure God is directing it. I would still like Him to sky write it for me, but since I doubt that will happen, we will just have to listen to and for that quite still voice.
Anyone else use chore list? I am working on ours, trying to get it where it isn't overwhelming, but gets what needs doing done. I am hoping this will make my life easier as they learn to do each day. In making my life easier then we can have more fun things to do. I keep trying to point this out, but so for they don't get it. Maybe in time. Or maybe they will just learn to do the chores because they don't like the consequences.
Oh I finally found another use for white sugar besides my DH using it in his coffee and tea. Humming bird feed! I have alt least 3 humming birds already fighting over the feeder. It is hanging on the porch outside my computer window. I get to enjoy them while I type.
Ok it is really time for the internet to come back up! I have stripped beds, got laundry on, checked the pool, drank all the coffee and a few other things. It did come up long enough for me to check email and read a couple of forums, but ..... I wasn't finished!
Guess I will go do chores and hope I can post this when I get back.
As you can see it finally came back up....for now! Oh well I am almost finished with laundry and have accomplished other things since I didn't have play time. |
