• Friday, February 22, 2008 - Joy's of Milk

This morning  I was running late milking, and had separated early to go out to eat.   I knew I would have lots of milk.  I took two jars and filled them at the barn.  Then I brought a FULL milker in, 5.5 gallons!!!!   If your counting that is 7.5 gallons this morning.  As kids were putting up milked I heard a CRASH!  Looked up in time to see milk cascading out of the top shelf of the frig.   To really understand the mess understand my pantry floor really needs replacing.  It is linoleum and has holes in it.  It is to be replaced once the freezers go out.   So you know where all the milk that cascaded out went.   Kids cleaned and cleaned. and maybe it won't smell like soured milk by tomorrow.  Life lesson!  Don't SHOVE glass jars around to "make them fit".  I was told that was what he was doing.

We had a wonderful time last night at Heart to Heart.  I love the once a month fellowship of moms.  We can share our ups and downs and just talk.   It was good!

Tomorrow is the Rodeo!  YEA!!!  That is the one sporting event I don't like to miss.   We have been going for years.  Even when we didn't have money for tickets, we would do without something else to get to go.  This year my DIL's 2 younger driving age brothers came down to go.  Both grown son's families then all the littles.  To make it even more fun friends from church got tickets in the same area.

It's really quite in my house.  Two of my littles just went off with my DIL to get produce and buy some jeans for one of them.  The child still at home has made some bad choices and is setting quietly thinking about them.  Or at least setting quietly.  I have a new CD that' I haven't listened to.  Think I will stick it in and rock the house.  I need a day of worship and praise.

Everyone have a blessed day and go out and bless someone else!

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
