I was up early this morning. No one else seems to be stirring. The house is quite. It really is rare that it is quite. I can't decide if I am enjoying it or not.
Today we don't have a lot planned. I think I will break down and make cheese. My Countryside magazine came and it has some cheese recipes. I may try the feta. Anyone else read Countryside? I have been reading it 15 years are so, and have most of the copies still. My DIL has been know to re-read them.
Milk supply is going strong. I need a few more friends that would like some. I did have to pour out 2 gallons the other day when I checked milk. They were soured. I reminded kids how important it is to rotate. They are in charge of putting milk up each day. I planned on feeding it to the dogs. DD had other ideas. As she went out the door with the full gallon of milk, it slipped out of her arms. SPLASH! along with the sound of shattering glass. We got it all cleaned up. At least it was outside, and she didn't get hurt. She did manage to cut her pinkie a little in clean up.
Yesterday was town day. It really was a great day. It didn't start out like that. Kids decided to procrastinate on getting dressed for chores. After coming back from the barn because no one had shown up I sent them all three to the barn in various stages of dress. I did point out it was a good thing it was warm, as some had no shoes. It was pretty oh well, you knew what time chores were, and oh well you knew if you didn't go to the barn in a timely manor you would have a consequence...... you got one :)
After chores and breakfast kids wanted to know when we were going to town. I said as soon as I shower and get dressed. One of them said, "So we better hurry or we will go like this." :) I agreed! Funny I didn't have to wait on them to go to town.
We had school in town. I called my DH about lunch and he ask what we were doing. I said "School in the dog food isle of Wal-Mart!" I had shown them how to look at the per ounce price instead of the sack price. So we were practicing. I would give each child a section and they would find the lowest price. Good thing WM was about empty. We always check out in the garden center. The clerks back there are much friendlier and it is just a slower pace. Yesterday they had the .10 seeds out. So I let the kids have fun. My only request was not to get the same kind. Checker and I visited as they had a blast. She was amazed at what she was hearing. "Here's the spinach!", "Don't forget the squash"...... She couldn't believe they liked all these different veggies, especially the spinach! I then had the kids tell her about army smoothies. I don't think she will rush home and fix one, even though they assured her they were really good.
Therapy went well. I laughed, MJ told me after his oh maybe 10 minutes in with the therapist he didn't have much to share. I'm glad, means he is healing. T (7) had a LOT to share, but most of it was just about her week, not about issues. She had to share about having to write sentences for lying. How it really helped her think about the choice of lying and she was going to make better choices. :) Then MN went back and couldn't find her poem. So I pulled it up on the net for her. I had tried to warn therapist it was powerful. Therapist told me afterwards she had no idea!!! She was still spinning by it. It really was a good session.
We rushed home racing darkness. I needed to get a load of cut fire wood off the back side for these next two cold days before dark. We managed to load the ranger down with wood before dark. Got chores done and unloaded the excursion in the dark.
I did send an enquire on a boy in NM last night. I haven't saw any on the sites that I feel led to send our name out on. This one I did. I really feel God is saying we have some issues with the kids that need dealing with first. I am still trying to figure out how to go about dealing with them. It isn't the kids themselves but stuff from their path that needs cleaning up by powers great than me. Problem is those powers don't want to address these things. So I pray and continue to seek guidance.
I guess it is time to brave the cold cold world out there. I really don't even know if the norther has hit yet. We do have a 90% chance of rain tomorrow, or ice depending on the temp. I am praying rain, LOTS of rain. All have a blessed day!!!! Drop a commit if you feel led!

As for that extra milk, send some over this way. With a family of six, we go through a lot of milk and milk products. I'm having a hard time finding a small cow or milking goats that are in our price range.
We have -21 this morning and I need to get out there and check on our livestock.
Have a blessed day.
