I managed to drag my bottom out of bed early today. I'm not sure why. DH left and I snuggled down for about 30 more (at least) minutes of napping. I usually spend this time either napping or chatting with God. This morning I made the mistake of telling Him that if He wanted me to get up keep me awake. About then a cat started meowing out my window and a dog started barking. Top that off with my hands started itching again, or is that just some more? Me eczema kept me away a lot last night. I should have kept my hands out of the dish water. If I had done that I wouldn't have a cut on my finger and maybe they wouldn't be itching as bad as they are. I have yet to figure out what triggers them to get worse. I know some triggers like dirt and dishwater, but there are others that I haven't figured out.
My sore finger is just that sore. It isn't terribly sore, but I did put a band-aid on it last night with some med. Of course the band aid is driving me nuts. I know it works as padding to keep from banging it against the keys to much so I leave it on, until it falls off. I am one of these that is hard to keep a band-aid on. Some of you have talked about how surprised you are to hear I super glued my finger closed. Do you know what a medic's kid in the military has in it? Super glue! :) If it works for them, it will work for me. I have used it on me, my kids and my critters. Usually it burns, but this brand didn't yesterday. I was surprised. It isn't a sure fix, but it will help lots of times. Band-aid has fell off as I typed. It really isn't even that sore. That's a big "Thank You God!"
Daylight is slow in coming this morning. The clouds must be really thick. It is 7:30 and just now getting light outside. Kids are still sleeping. It seems they didn't set their alarms. They randomly set them. Usually on days I really wish they wouldn't. Like Sat. mornings.
As I have written this daylight has come, not sunrise, but light. It is cold, 26 degrees, warming to a warm 36 or so they say. I wish I could stay home and hug the wood stove and cook today. Cold weather is always my favorite time to cook. I love doing big pots of chili or stew that simmer all day. I also love dishes that I sue the oven for like bread so I can warm my kitchen. It is on the North side of my house and usually much colder than the living room.
I wonder if I will have a new calf this morning? Mama was really bagging last night. I think I have it written down for the 20th, but being an older cow it is hard to tell when exactly she will calf. I guess it is time to brave the cold and go find out. |
