Why is it when you have to many things going on something happens?  I was making such good progress this morning.  Two batches of granola on to cook and I tried using the same idea only with popcorn.  In the middle of that I was going to quickly wash the dishes I had dirtied.  Quickly was my undoing.  I managed to lay my left ring finger open on the pad with my vita mix.  Did you know those blades are sharp?

Being the good EMT I was for 18 years I grabbed a semi clean rag and applied pressure as I did my dance around the kitchen.  Once the dance was over I decided I didn't want to try to finish cooking and washing with a band-aid.  So next best thing is super glue right?  I even had a new package!  I glued it shut and on with cooking.  Trying to keep the finger covered in super glue from sticking to anything as it dries. I think it is dry and touch it, which makes it start bleeding again.  FINE!  I clean it and again super glue it, this time MUCH better!

Now I have this really mangled looking finger because of the way the super glue dried.  Good news is it isn't bleeding, it isn't to sore.  Best news is, I can still type!   I am sure that it will be sore later.

I have two batches of granola made.  Now to find enough gallon jars to hold it all.  I remember now one of the reasons I haven't made any.  My jars are all full of milk or at other peoples houses full of milk.  I can use gallon ziplocks, but jars work so much better.     I do still need to add the dried fruit.  I don't even know what I have in the way of fruit to add.

As to what else I will do today?  Baby my finger  and whine?  Oh, that isn't an option?  How about read some more in my book.  I am reading "Jesus has left the Building."  So far I am enjoying it.  I do understand what he is saying and agree with it.  But then I am a rebel from way back :)

Tomorrow is a town day.  Never fun!  Add to that the HIGH tomorrow is 38 or so.   I an sooo excited...NOT!   The up side of it is that we have Heart to Heart tomorrow night.  That means I get to hang out late with NO children.   I even get to talk to adult women.   It is always enjoyable to visit and catch up on what is going on with each of them.

Guess I have taken a long enough break.  I better get my fruit in my granola and it in packages.

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
