• Monday, January 14, 2008 - Swiss Army Knife

Anyone ever wash a Swiss Army knife?  They come out really clean and shinny.  And in LOTS of pieces!!!  Yes this is my son's knife.  He left it in his pocket and his sister put the dirty clothes in the washer.  Anyone want to guess who's fault it was according to MJ that his knife is now a jig saw puzzle?   You guessed!  His sister's!  First words out of his mouth were, "You should have checked my pockets."  That flew about as far as a ton of rocks would.  He got told quickly that it was HIS responsibility to check his pockets.  What he doesn't know is that I found his other knife in the washer this morning when I was putting laundry in.

In other news my dh is off to Houston for 2 days.  :(   I am never happy when he is gone.   He left early this morning and won't be back until late tomorrow night.

today I need to wax my cheddar cheese I made last week. It really looks like cheese.  I am counting down the days on trying the gouda cheese.  I think the rine may be so thick and the amount of cheese so small that a taste is all anyone will get.  I really need to use a larger amount of milk to do these cheeses. It is amazing how much milk it takes to make a little bit of cheese.

Today I have crabby kids.  I don't even know why.  They got a good nights sleep.  It just seems each of them is going out of their way to gripe fuss or argue with another one.  Maybe they all need a nap this afternoon :)   This type day sure is tiring.  I wish they would get a better attitude.  I am trying hard to hold on to my attitude.  I keep reminding me to not join in, but OH it is hard!!!!

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
