Mom's Adventure

• Tuesday, January 8, 2008 - KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 11 yo just came in and told me he checked the pool and it is warm enough, can he swim. I am setting in the house with a throw over my shoulders drinking hot tea. "SURE!"

Off he went to get changed. When he came back I refilled my tea cup, explained that if I go out there he is going in, one way or the other.

He quickly jumped in and .............. OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "BBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I will wait for spring........... or summer before I swim again."

It is ONLY 70 outside today with a BRISK north wind. I have debated a fire all day in the stove. It is just warm enough I can't justify one, but at the same time boy would it feel good.

Any one else have daring children?

That sounds like something my kids would do!! They think if the sun is out and it isn't 20degrees, they should be able to go out and play in short sleeves or shorts!! It doesn't always last but they usually try. Not me, I would be like you with some hot tea and a throw. In fact, I did have to cups of hot tea this morning!!

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day.
