I found a cough syrup that works.  MN says it doesn't taste very  good but she agrees it does help and even ask for it.  I took equal parts of lemon juice and honey. To this I added a dash of tabasco sauce.  I warmed it just enough to mix.  This equaled about 2 swallows.  She then drank a big glass of water after it.  She had a hacking cough and couldn't sleep.  For two nights now after doing this she has slept all night.   Yesterday she was coughing and even ask me to make her some so she would stop.

While I am talking recipes I made the best supper last night.  Oh if I knew what made it so good ! :)  I took some frozen leftover turkey added some broken spaghetti noodles.  Went to the spice cabinet and added garlic and onion and curry powder.  Dumped a bunch of mixed frozen veggies in it and let it cook.  Once it was about done I added milk with flour mixed in it.  Then more milk to fill my pan.  We ate and ate and ate.  It was fast easy and cheap!

Today I need to make bread.  My kids requested the Hawaiian bread again.  They also requested rolls.  I think it was 47 pans they ask for.  I am NOT making 47pans, but will make bread today into rolls instead of loaves.  I may add some fruit nectar to the Hawaiian bread just for more flavor.

I also need to see how much milk I have in the frig. If it is over flowing I will again attempt cheese.   I did find how to keep the temps of it pretty well where it should be.  I used my free standing roaster as a double boiler.  I just turned it on a degree or two. The down side is the pan that fits in it is only a 3-4 gallon pan, I have one bigger, but it won't fit in the roaster.  So I will be making smaller batches of cheese.

I guess it is time to start this crazy zoo!  All have a blessed day!

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
