• Sunday, January 6, 2008 - Waiting on Bread to Rise

I motivated myself enough this morning to get bread on.  I heated my milk and coconut oil before I read my Bible.  Then it STILL wasn't cool when I was done so I stuck it in the freezer as I ground my wheat.  It was pretty warm, but I hope cool enough by then to not kill my yeast.  So now I am waiting on it to rise.   I haven't checked on it in a while.  I was having trouble finding a warm spot for it.  The house is cool, not cold so no fire.  I finally stuck it on top of my frig in the pantry and closed the door.   I will check it in about 20 minutes and HOPE it has risen.  IF not I guess I will have to come up with a new idea to use 8 cups of flour, coconut oil and yeast.  The milk part, no one will miss!

I am really being a lazy person today on cooking for church.  I am bringing a frozen lasagna.  I just couldn't motivate me yesterday to figure out something good to fix.  LOL note even something good, just something period!  I really need to get me sorted out and more motivated  or is that organized.  I'm not sure which it is.   Does it count I am also going to make a spinach salad with what ever is on hand that can go in it?

Yea bread is rising!   DH just looked for me and said it was to the top of the pan!  I need to get it punched down and made into rolls.  I wonder if I can do that and get chores done or if DH will get to stick them in the oven for me.  This recipe is strange in that you only let them rise about 15-20 minutes the second time.  I hope I balance it all out so that I get them cooked not burned.  Time for me to get all this done if I plan on making it to church at all much less on time!  All have a blessed day!

HI
love your blog, as I just came upon it. WOW you ground your own wheat. I should be doing that as well. I don't think that they will mind at church about the frozen food as sometimes we need a break. Your house must smell nice this morning(baking bread)
Take care and many blessings thoughout your day.

Hi Nola,
WOW! Your bread sounds wonderful!! YOU...aren't motivated...and you ground your own wheat for the bread? Can you share some of your "lack" of motivation, then???? LOL!

If your church is anything like ours....frozen lasgana will be fine...it is food....and our church folks just likes to eat!! They are not too fussy!!

I am glad that your bread was rising and I am sure it turned out!

I so enjoy your blog!! You are teaching me a lot about country life!! Keep up the good work!

Hope to talk to you on line sometime soon! Until then, God bless!

Take care!

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
