The weather service missed the lows last night. My idea of high 20s isn't 21! What is amazing it that it started warming before daylight this morning. At 6 it was 21 and now at 7:30 with the sun STILL not up it is 29. Maybe it will be warmer today than they said too. I can only hope!
I know I talk so often about sunrise and how I enjoy watching it. How wonderful my sunrises are here. I wanted to share this picture of a sunrise last week.
This is not a rare sunrise, but something I get to experience several times a week. This morning looks to be less colorful than some. Do you realize that the sunrise or sun set you see is painted just for you? That to be standing in any other place you won't see the exact same picture? Next time you see a special sky event be sure and tell the Maker of that even Thank You.
Yesterday as I was out checking my sheep I remembered to take my camera. This was moon rise at our house last night.

At the same time this was taking place in the Eastern sky this was what the western sky looked like.

I said my lambs were cute. Here is the proof.
Last night I counted 7 lambs. They range in color from almost black with just a white star to almost white. Most are black and white like this lamb.
Today we have a lot to accomplish. I don't know how much of it will happen. As always we have a "have to" list and a "want to" list. The have to list includes a trip to get a ton of feed to feed my ewes and lambs. Then that has to be unloaded. The want to list includes DH and I figuring out how to put the freezer panels together to build our walk in cooler/freezer. Think of a jig saw puzzle with the peaces 8x2, 8x4, etc. I am still trying to understand how this is going to work. He says it will so I know it will. The freezer he bought was HUGE. 20x20 or bigger. It was divided into 3 rooms. These walk in freezers are put together with panels of foam filled aluminium. They aren't heavy, but big and bulking to carry around and "build" a new freezer. Maybe that needs to be a challenge on one of these reality shows, It sounds like one.
Saturday was one of my favorite days of the year. It was the shortest day of the year. Why is that a favorite? Because now the days are getting LONGER! I made it through one more time! I love the sun and love long days. I dread the short days of winter. I know our days aren't as short as many of you have since I am further south, but they are WAY to short for me. I always do a happy dance when winter begins since the days are now getting longer.
I have been busy and haven't taken the time to read anyone's blogs over the weekend. I don't see it happening today or tomorrow either. Why is it when your DH is home your whole schedule is off? For the first time in many years my DH has 4 whole days off for Christmas. Saying that he is off doesn't mean he won't be called in on Christmas day for someone that needs a hot water heater. This happens almost every Christmas. It isn't a big deal to us, just part of life. I am glad he is willing to help someone else. I wouldn't want to be without hot water any day of the year!
I guess it is time to brave the cold cold world. Everyone have a blessed day! Leave a commit to let me know you stopped by, and a link if you blog so if I come up for air I can read yours!

• Monday, December 24, 2007 - schedules and cold
Also, I am laughing at you. I remember when it first started getting cold in the fall. You looked at everyone and basically asked if anyone else was ready for summer yet. LOL.
Love ya, Nola.
