They leave at 9:30 in the morning. We will have to bust hinny to get it all done and get him there. He is getting the your part of the family treatment. EVERYONE but MN and I were cutting and hauling fire wood. Everyone including DIL and grand-baby(3 months old). DIL has grand-baby in the sling and is driving the ranger for them. Ds and Dh are cutting wood and all the kids are loading, DIL brings it to the house big kids, W. and DIL"S 17 yo brother dump the Ranger and trailer then off they go. MN and I went and checked goats. I ask W if he wanted to go with us. He wanted to go help with firewood some more.
While we were checking goats this morning we got to see a birth. W. had wanted to, since the ground is littered with baby goats, wet, dry, alive and some dead. I had missed this one fixing to pop out, but MJ saw it so we stopped and watched and in 2-5 minutes out popped a live baby. W said it was sooooooooo cool.
After a tea and jerky break while I made BBQ sauce with all the kids helping and tasting. W. Likes spicy too :) S took them all to scatter deer corn to feed the deer tonight, or this afternoon or when ever he thinks he can get a shot at one. Oops, forgot MJ decided against going. I think the noise and busyness is overloading him. He is helping dad get meat on to cook.
I have a feeling that W. is going to be exhausted by dark. He is trying to talk the other kids into swimming. They aren't game. He also is teasing MN about swimming. Or more like being tossed in the pool. He will look across the room at her making swimming motions. She gets his meaning. She told me she doesn't think he will do it. I laughed! I assured her that he would LOVE to toss her in the pool. Now to see if she has to find out the hard way or if she believes me.
I see lots of big brother behavior in him. He is 3rd from oldest in his foster home so he has younger siblings around. He teases and picks and argues and makes sure they aren't hurt. They were dumping the Ranger and he made sure MJ, who was "helping" was out of the way enough when it came down not to get fingers squished, but did "help" W lift his side.His "helping" made it harder for W, but he allowed it.
I so want to make this happen, but as I was praying this morning I heard God say wait on Him. Enjoy today and He would deal with tomorrow. I have no clue what that means, but I am trying hard to just focus on today. Today IS a great day! God is blessing this weekend as only He can do. My fix it make it happen mentality is struggling. God's plan is perfect and He has brought this this far. It IS in His hands. So I am just waiting on God to see where this leads. |

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is.
I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
