• Saturday, October 27, 2007 - Sat. Morning Check in!

I'm setting here enjoying breakfast.  Does anyone else do strange breakfast?  We are having green smoothies.  Today it is packed full of spinach then I added frozen strawberries, a lemon 2 carrots some flax seed and some sunflower seeds.  I topped it with some honey, but with the lemon it needed more sweet.  This is where my stevia packets come in so handy.  I don't like them.  They don't dissolve, but they are no match to the vita mix.  Kids got in an argument over who got the most. :It is funny this one is really green, but some times if I use blue berries they look like dirt.  I pour it in the glasses and they are going mmmmmmmmmmmmmm looks good.  Yes my kids aren't normal, but hey with me for a mom what do you expect!

Goats this morning were a win some loose some.   At least the bottle babies over all seem to be doing well.   Someone ask if I would change a thing about my life.  Very little!  I do hate the fact that I can't save all the babies, and that I loose mamas.   I know that is apart of life.

My son, who owns the goats is planning on coming out today.  Yea!  I always enjoy it when my family is here. I have my doubts he will stay long enough for a meal.  He is bring some more feed out and some more meds for me to try.

I need to get my house cleaned and prepare for next weekend.  If all goes according to plan we will be having a 14 yo boy from NM spend the weekend with us.  We are checking each other out with the hope of adopting him.  We have met him.  We met him at an adoption even in NM in Aug.   It was kind of strange how it worked out.  We were looking mainly at girls. I really thought that was where God wanted us to focus.   Then along comes this young man in baggy pants, with a mo-hawk.  Think junior want to be gang banger.  Remember we are very conservative.  Think cowboy look!  So there was nothing about the physical that would appeal to us.  Yet we talked to him several times during the day.  Then I told his case worker that we really liked him.   After the event he told his foster mom and case worker he would really like to explore the family from Texas.  Soooooooooo next weekend is the weekend!  I admire his case worker.  She is giving up her weekend to fly down with him and stay the weekend in a hotel so he has a chance at being adopted.   I really wish I could think of a nice "Thank You" to give her while she is here.  Any ideas?

I guess every journey starts with a single step, or in this case, every clean house starts with not being on the computer so  I am off!

About Me

Just want to share the joys and tears of living in the country with others that understand them both. I am mom to 5 children. Two biological and three adopted. We are praying for one more adopted soon. We live 40 miles from town on 117 acres. My days are full of homeschooling children and dealing with livestock. Life is never dull or boring or "normal" what ever normal is. I ramble on here often, some times more than once a day as this is my main form of socialization with adults during the day. Hope to make some new friends here.
