For me!  No I don't want more bottle babies!   On my evening check I had one nanny that had twins, one dead one alive.  She doesn't look to good, but loves her baby so I am hoping for the best.  I had one nanny that didn't seem to healthy.  My 21 yo son is home so I enlisted him to help me catch her and give her a shot.   My dog and I can catch them, but he makes it look so much easier.   As we walked up the fence we watched the mama to the ones that had trouble standing up feed them.  I had checked them earlier and they were hungry.  I thought she had abandoned them.  We went on up where she was and the babies attacked our legs!  The were not getting any milk.  Doesn't look like she has any.  Soooooooooo to the house they have to come.  The nanny's kid that had the messed up side to her udder was all humped up and sick acting.  I wonder if her milk isn't any good in the "good" side?   So we decided he had to come too.  Kids are thrilled.  My 23 yo won't be!  They are his goats, and his lively-hood.   I think he knows how bad I agonize over each kid I have to take.   This is the third or fourth year we have done the partnership thing.   He buys them, and mama plays midwife.  I get all the bottle babies, and any milk goats I find that I like  .   His goal for this year is 500 head of mamas by Jan. 1.
