Hello everybody-

I just got back from Missouri last night and I just gotta say that is a long ride. I have been on longer rides but this ride just felt like forever. I was hoping to stay as long as Mom and Dad had planned but they were having trouble sleeping and we all were getting a cold. I just have a runny nose and a minor sore throat. I had fun and I am really going to miss all of that beautiful land out at my Aunt Tracy and Uncle Eric's. We are not really related but I treat them like family. I am not really related to most of the people in my family. Blood does not make you family. Family to me is any special bond between two people.

Even though the house is small I still had a lot of time to myself because of the fact that I was constantly out in the woods. As I was out there I encountered I whole lot of snakes and I even killed one. I think that I stepped on it's tail when I was walking and it coiled up to get ready to fight so I crushed it's head and snapped it's neck before it could bite me. It could have very well been poisonous.I wasn't gonna take any chances.

Also in the woods I practiced my vocals because I am planning to record my bands demo this summer. It's the church band I’m in called Eternity. I am excited about getting this on Cd and I will be putting our stuff on the internet for everybody to hear. It's still in the planning stages and I am trying to figure out how to transfer the files to Mp3. My vocals have changed since last year I noticed and my voice has gotten a lot deeper. This will make the songs sound better. I never planned on singing and I really don't think that I am that good but I  don't claim to be a pro and I can only do what I know how to do.
When I first started I wasn't trained at all and I didn't really know how to control my voice and I had no idea what I was capable of. The more I have sung in front of people and practice I have had,the more progress I have made. I used to be so shy that when the band first started I couldn't even sing in front of my parents and it was hard enough singing in front of my band mates. Now it only takes a few seconds to warm up and I will sing in front of just about anybody.

I also took my aunt’s acoustic into the woods and worked on squeezing in a few more riffs for the demo. It's hard to write good music and be original at the same time. I think that I got this down though. I may even have my old bassist (My cousin Amanda who I played a show with) play on this demo too. My friend Vincent will be coming out for the summer to record. He is still in California. I miss him a whole lot. He was supposed to come out for Spring Break but the tickets were very expensive and it wouldn't make sense to spend that much money just to see him for only 2 weeks.

I got to drive when I was out at my aunt's. My uncle and I drove around in his feild in his truck. I cranked up some metal and we went crazy. I had a blast but I don't know how I would handle driving on a highway. I also got a dagger and some clothes from their daughter's fiancee. I think that I am going to start collecting daggers. Brrr... It is cold here. It's hard to go from 70 degree weather in Missouri to Mid 40's here in Ohio. I think that the drastic weather change is what made me sick.

I am so mad!! I broke my bottom guitar string today and I am broke right now so I can't go out and get another right now. I break that same string frequently usually because of my constant tuning changes. If I can't play the guitar I am usually bored or mad....That's my life!!! Usually there is always something to do but I still hate not playing guitar...

Anyways now that I am done with my coughing fit I am going to leave you with the lyrics for one of the songs off of my bands upcoming demo. I also plan to have Vincent sing a lot more than he has in the past. He has a very soft voice. Mine is harder and in other genre's I can be more agressive sounding so I have to work hard to make my voice fit in such a light style of music.

SINNER TO SAINT
Music by: Vince Glancey & Brandon Mitchell
Lyrics by: Brandon Mitchell & Vince Glancey

Verse 1:
God forgive me for I am a sinner
Wash my spirit clean
I am tired of livin my life so grey
Help me follow your ways

Chorus:
And I....Just want to let you know I'm coming home
And I....Think about you all the time

Verse 2:
God I'm in a time of need
Please give me inner strength
I need somebody to lean on
Only you can take me way

Chorus

Verse 3:
It must have been hard giving your son
Nothing can amount to it no one
As they nailed him to the cross
Not knowing he'd save every one

Chorusx2

Solo( Mitchell)

Verse 4:
As I take my final breath
I look back on my life
And you've been by my side
Now it's time for me to say goodbye

Outro: All the time

Well I hope you like the lyrics. I wrote that song shortly after I was saved and became serious about the church and God so it holds a lot of meaning for me. That song is definatley one of my favorites for this project.

I really hope this weather warms up soon because I love to be outside if I am not playing the guitar. I love the feeling of the warm air and I am always my happiest spending time with Vincent riding bikes and causing chaos. LOL!!! During the summer we ride our bikes everywhere we can. I love riding to the library. I'm not much on doing tricks and stuff because I happen to be clumsy and I wreck alot. Okay I had better  stop talking about the summer because it is driving me crazy thinking about it. Well I am done typing for today. Expect another entry in a couple of weeks.

God bless you all...

Just checking in on here so everybody can meet me. Here's what's new with me. I just got pulled out of school during my class before my lunch yesterday. I am so glad that I'm out of school. I was shocked at first because my mom told me that I had to stay in school till Friday and I was planning on saying goodbye to my friends. Just as I get ready to turn in my test one of the assistant principals tells me to leave campus. I was kind of blown away that she was just making me leave. I thought that they would have told my parents or something. The school system is weird like that though.

I'm really happy though because tomorrow night I'm leaving for Missouri. This is gonna be one insane road trip and I mean literally. Nothing like being in a van with your "dysfunctional" family and your dog. I mean that in a good way. I have a lot of fun with my parents. My dad and me are a lot alike and mom loves to pick on me. I wouldn't trade them for the world. Hey if they put up with my extremely obnoxious music, (well it is to them, to me it's a work of art) then I can put up with them for two weeks no problem.

My mom is hilarious, when I first started high-school I got invited to this girls party (trust me not the party most high-scholars go to, it was drug-free) who I have a huge crush on and she said that her and dad were going to walk me to the door in their pajama's and mom would make her hair frizzy just to embarrass me. Do you see what a wonderful family I have?

Yeah, this trip to Missouri will be a time to remember. It will be a G-Rated version of National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. I really enjoy when the family sits around a bonfire in our backyard and we roast marshmallows. Those times are great for me. Holidays are wonderful too. Especially Thanksgiving because in case you don't know my mom is the best cook in the world, that is not an opinion that is a fact. She bakes the best bread ever. If you don't ask for seconds at meals, there is obviously something wrong with your taste buds.

I’m looking forward to the summer because my best friend Vincent is coming back from California for three-months. There is a good chance that he will fly out at the end of March for two weeks for Spring Break. I miss him so much but it's given me more time to find myself a guitarist. When he was here we always tried to stay on the same page for writing and neither of us would get much better because we could never extend ourselves. When he comes back things are going to change in our sound and he will see that I am a lot better. He plays for me over the phone and I can tell that his time away for me has made him progress tremendously because we aren't fighting. We are letting ourselves get better and with God on our side soon enough we will be selling out concert halls across the world. I honestly think that we can but it definitely will not happen in just overnight. It will takes some time. We play rock, extreme metal, thrash, blues, metalcore, and hardcore sometimes punk rock unless I am playing for the church then it is light rock. I enjoy metal core the best because it is still extremely heavy, my parents do not like it, but at the same time it has melodic parts and it isn't just rapid picking and constant growling, it has singing too. I also love playing blues. My parents love it when I play the blues and it comes straight from my heart to the fret board. I have never heard anything with so much emotion like the blues. I like country too. It took sometime but I am back into it. There’s a good chance this year I might be able to put some of my Church songs online.

If my dream of being in a famous metal or rock band fails I still hope to have a career in music. For a back-up plan I am considering working at a zoo. I have a lot of fun with animals and there is always something new to learn about them. My dog for instance, he is like a big storybook. He is always doing something different. I love him like crazy. He has the goofiest personality ever. He things that he is one of us and a lot of ways besides the constant slobber and fur he is. We have to cats also, Blizzard age 4 and he is so fat it is unreal. He loves me though and he is always coming to me for love. Then there's Idgy but we wount go there.

I go to the Newark Heights Church of God and I can honestly say that there is no man in the world like my pastor. Pastor Beesley is intellegent, he knows his stuff, he is honest, considerate, and he would give you the shirt off his back. He doesn't make church a place to hang out and ignore the purpose for being there. He doesn't candy-coat anything but our church is far from dull. He uses a lot of different subjects to tie in his message. He has a wonderful sense of humor and he is funnier than the biggest comedians out there. He is a very devout christian and his humor is still funnier than that of anybody in the world's. I don't know how Newark Heights got so lucky but we sure did. Our church may be small but we are true to God. There is nothing like going to a church get together. For one, our church is full of cooks and for another, we have so much fun together.

Well I think that is way over enough for somebody to read. I'm not much on reading myself but if you get feel like reading more I shall post one huge blog monthly for you to rack your brains with.

Goodbye and God bless you all!!!
Brandon

Hello we are the Mitchell Kids! There are five of us who will visit here regularly. We are going to tell you a little about each one of us.

Brandon...I am 14 years old. I am a child of God. I currently attend a public high school but my mother will be homeschooling me along with siblings soon. I am very interested in music and play the guitar. My parents say that I am getting very good. I have taught myself to play for 2 years and have been taking lessons for the past couple of months. I have my own little area in the basement that is decked out in guitar and music gear. I write and play songs for our church (which brings my mother to tears). I just got a brand new Dean guitar for Christmas!! Currently I am teaching my littlest brother how to play his brand new guitar.

Lauren...I am 12 years old. I am a child of God. I am homeschooled. My interests include crafting, cooking, reading, writing, baseball and dancing. I just got my very own sewing machine for Christmas and plan to learn how to sew as good as my mom. I am very active in church. I participate in the music ministry and sometimes the childrens ministry. I am learning to play the keyboard and clarinet. I sometimes sing with my big brother when he plays for the church. My mom calls me her little homemaker.

Legacy...I am 12 years old. I am a child of God. I am homeschooled. My interests include crafting, cooking, reading, writing, dancing, and listening to my cd collection. I just got my very own sewing machine for Christmas. My sister and I plan to help my mom sew up all kinds of stuff. I am active in the church music ministry. I am learning to play the keyboard and clarinet. My daddy lives in California and I go to visit him every year. I am a very lucky girl with two families who love each other very much. I have two dads, two moms, 3 sisters and 3 brothers altogether. My aunt in California homeschools my two cousins who I am very close to. We have a lot of fun together. I also help out at my baby sisters school two days a week while I am out there.

Collin...I am 11 years old. I am a child of God. I am homeschooled. My interests include baseball, BMX, building things, tools and watching sports with my dad. I just got a Mongoose Rebel BMX freestyle bike for Christmas. I plan to learn how to do all kinds of tricks. So far I have worked on wheelies, one wheel balance, ramping, po-going on the back pegs, and picking my bike up from a lay down position and riding without touching the ground. I helped my dad make a huge ramp for our back yard and made a small one of my own. My siblings and I just got done builiding a huge snow fort from snow and ice! It was really cool. My parents call me die hard.

Joey...I am 8 years old. I am a child of God. I am homeschooled. My interests include baseball, skateboarding, music, video games (which my parents won't let me play a lot ), and playing my guitar. I just got a Dean guitar for Christmas that is small enough for me. My biggest brother is teaching me how to play. My parents say that I am very good for my age and think I will be an awesome guitar player just like my big brother. I love to play outside and swim. I also like builing things.
