Rain makes me ponder....

Posted on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 02:48

It's raining here!  Praise the Lord!

We've been without rain again for quite some time. Thankfully it hasn't been too hot though. This rain looks like it will last a few days and give everything a much needed drink before the fall comes - helping prolong those beautiful colors we love so well here near the Blue Ridge Parkway!

We stacked wood this weekend and have enough to last the winter now. It's nice and dry in the shelter while this rain is coming down.  Feels almost like 'fire' weather today! Fall is not far away.

I love the fall here in NC. It's just right.

It seems that God orders the seasons with us in mind. Just when we're tired of mowing, harvesting and keeping cut back all the growth, He brings on the colorful fall! Then comes the stillness of winter.  When we're antsy for color and life, He brings on the spring as it flows into summer!

What a thoughtful and loving God!

The rain has given me some time to work on our store inventory and come up with some new recipes!

This month's FREE recipe is going to be "Whole Wheat Blueberry Tea Ring."  It's due out to my subscribers by Friday (if I can get some pictures before my family EATS it all)!

If you want to subscribe to my FREE recipes and tips to using whole grains go to: http://www.eatgrains.com

Heading to finish the laundry now and start tidying up for the evening!

Best Blessings!

The Blue Ridge Parkway

Ah, the Blue Ridge Parkway. You brought back some wonderful memories. My dad grew up not too far from the Blue Ridge Parkway - in Virginia :) I haven't rode the Blue Ridge Parkway in about 11 years. It's gorgeous in the Fall, or any time of year but especially the Fall.
