At Home this Week

On the Table: Baked Corn, Hamburger Pie, Cinnamon Buns, raw Broccoli and Lettuce salad, and leftover Pumpkin Pie.

In the Garden: My husband is bringing the tractor over later this week to start the garden, and even out some ruts in the back property. Honestly, our patch of land isn't that big, and my husband insists this is the fastest way to get things started here. The alternative would be to hand me a shovel and let me go to town, which would result in a garden about one-foot long by one-foot wide. Fence posts are still going up. My husband also informed me that he would be moving some lilac bushes on the edge of our property closer to where the fence will be.
"What lilac bushes? We have lilac bushes? Where? I didn't smell any lilacs blooming last year."
"Well, they bloomed, but it was pitiful."

Around the House: Continued carpentry touches on the kitchen, plans being made for a summer work frolic, and how to best use a ten-foot by six-foot carpet remnant we purchased from a neighbor for six dollars. Don't get me wrong- we can put it to use! We just want to get the most out of it.

On the Nightstand: Taste of Home's Casserole cookbook, the new issue of Keepers at Home.

Just wondering: Once in a while someone will say to me "I'm just not a reader" or "I can't sit still long enough to read a book" or "I have ADD when it comes to reading." How do those people read their Bibles???? Or don't they?

Thanks for the interesting tour through your home today!
I think it is probably true that non-readers are daunted by the Bible. This is one reason that sharing aloud can be such a blessing.

Blessings,
April

I love that last comment. LOL Good point, and I hadn't ever thought about it that way. I like the format today too! Sounds like you are doing alot dear and keeping blessesdly busy. What are we goingto do when our houses are completely redone to our liking and everything is caught up?? LOL Yeah right, like that will ever happen eh?

God's Blessings,

Well whats on the table sounds good to me.. And for getting a tractor to make a garden I had to laugh to my self cause the only thing we use our tractor for now is snowblowing and twitching logs... Good luck I hope everything works out for you..
Thanks for stopping by me blog..

I can't wait to get my ground tilled either. Plus I told my husband that I want to make mine larger and add more things. Funny I usually get a grunt but this time I think he was thinking the same thing. :-) I enjoy the way your write. Bibles can be intimidating to people from the way some are written. I love the one I have.

***Sherry, excellent point about Bible reading. I often wonder if God extends grace to those who have a difficult time reading His Word and finds a way to convey Scripture to them in a way that makes sense to them?****
