Just a quick update from the home front...![]() We haven't seen much snow here this winter, and what we got today amounts to a light dusting that has turned to rain. It is quite cold here, and this will be a fine night for making some hot cocoa and catching up on some newspaper reading. While winter is traditionally a time of sewing for many people, there has been no sewing taking place at this location due to the impracticalities of dirt, dust, and lack of space caused by our ongoing efforts. Perhaps by next year we will have the kitchen complete, which will free up some space in the storage room where I can then have a corner to sew. For now, any sewing takes place at a secret off-site location where all of my sewing equipment remains secluded. This secret location might also be known as my mother's house. This has worked out fine for right now, as there is more than enough to keep me busy here. One of my planned winter projects was to assemble our wedding album. This was nothing fancy, just our wedding pictures fastened into a pretty photo album with a few stickers here and there, and some written notes. I have finally managed to get them sorted and in place, and it is a relief to have our treasured photos well cared for in a responsible manner. Rather than having them floating around in a dirty envelope, which was the previous archival method. A wonderful thing about my husband is, he loves to scrapbook with me. When we were courting, he and I put together a lovely scrapbook we made of a trip we took to see his Aunt and Uncle in Tennessee. He really enjoyed it, and when we returned from our wedding trip he wanted to know if we were going to scrapbook that odyssey as well! We didn't have time, but we did have fun putting the pictures in a book and writing descriptions next to them. My other winter project is to memorize a chapter from the Bible. I am very behind on this, and have yet to determine which chapter to memorize. It should be something helpful or encouraging, something I can recall in a time of need to comfort others or myself. Any suggestions would be welcome. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 84 of 116 } { Next Page } |
