Beautiful ...just beautiful

What an awesome day we have awoken to..They called for rain last night, during the night, but it got here before bedtime..Now I sit here to type with my door open to hear the chirpping of my birds at the feeders, the warmth of the sun hitting my body...It will be a great day to work in the yard.

On that note, I have lots to do outdoors. I am wanting to clean out to sheds and pick up things that just get left behind when planting..You know thoses plastic containers..lol..Then there is the matter of going around the yard  pulling up flowers and filling the holes with dirt..the reason for this, is that I told Doodle Bug she could plant flowers and left it at that...was that a huge mistake, she dug in several different spots and planted..I guess that was what she needed to do since she knows NOT to dig in my beds..lol..so that is another thing on my list....make Doddle a small bed to plant what I will pull today....I am sure she will not be a happy camper...

This weekend I finally got several trees and blooming vines in the ground...I planted a Red Dogwood, a Wisteria tree not the vine, a Banana Magnolia, and a Jasmine vine...I still need to find a place to put my Seven Sister rose bush. Since this vineing bush takes over a large spot after several years, I need to find the perfect spot...I am  putting all my trelles in cement this year, so they will not just tump over when a strong wind arrives....I still need to get my Lily of the Niles planted and I have 3 vineing Celntis...

I don't know about in your neck of the woods, if the ants are bad, but here they will not leave me alone..Usually they bite and itch and then that is it..This year they bite, itch and make a horrible scar..I have several infected ones on my fingers, and boy do they hurt like the dickins...

So, with all this outside work today I really do not need to head off the homestead, but TJ just comes in an reminds me he has a doctors appointment in 30 mins, I am not dressed and the doctor is 20 mins. away...So off of the puter and head to view my day....

Thanks for stopping in..I will try and post pictures of the new addition of the family (Drake) later today...Have an awesome day..Debbie

BE THANKFUL.....

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT, BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME, & NOT OUT WITH FRIENDS.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME & NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE.

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING & I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

honey comb anyone?

Good morning friends,

I wanted to share this with you..I think you will be impressed..lol...

When we bought this house nearly 5 years ago, we knew we had some what a bee/wasp problem, but within the last 3 years it worsened...There were so many bees swamping outside the wall we knew this was a major thing..we called exterminators, they would spray and within a day or two the swarming was back..called bee keepers, one wanted to charge us $5,000 to tear the wall down in the game room and collect them...well, NO money for that...then others collectors do not go into the walls, but wanted the comb..

Night before last Brianna(gd, 3 yrs.old) got stung by one and went to bed a normal..within 2 hours of the sting she wakes cring, bad crying..(lol)  I turned on the light and my word she was so swollen in her face..Looked like we filled her little eye lids with water, her top lip touched her nose and there was not a spot on her little body not welped up and red..I rushed her to the ER...they gave her a benedrl shot and a steriod shot...thank GOd her throat was not closing, at that point they would admitted her...she has been stung before with NO reaction...Now at least they have order the little shot packs to carry with us...and we will see an allergy dr. to start treatments...Poor baby she was miserable..

Well, Brandon knew something had to be done...He called around, and again the same story, No help or lots of money...He tackled the task himself..they told him to use Bengel roach spray....bore little holes where you hear them buzzing and spray..Well come to find out, the hive was not in the game room, it was in their bathroom...lol

Below are the pictures....I wish I had taken pictures of Brianna....

Bee hive/comb was 5 foot tall, 16 inch wide and 1 inch deep...the picture of the bees is only SOME of them....the comb is distroyed since it is full of roach spray...BUT the problem is solved and only cost $250...whew.............
Debbie

honey, honey and more hiney...but you should of seen the holes with the bees eggs ready to hatch..

part of the comb

this is only part of the bees,,dead one outdoors and still more to come off floor and in the bottom of the walls

baby Drake update

For those of you that have visited in the last few days, here is an update on Drake and another adventure in the world of Meme...

Drake is not running anymore fever, eating well, but has diarreha..The doctors seems not to be too concerned with the poopies..which is good thing..We thought he may get out the hospital tomorrow, but looks like now the cultures will return on Tues....

Thanks for the prayers...

On the way to see Drake yesterday afternoon, in the rain, I got in a 3 car wreck...See NEVER a DULL moment in my world..lol..I just go from one thing to another..lol....I was not in the wrong and Thank God my car that I am still paying on is still drivable...is that a word?  lol..But the lady that caused the wreck totaled her car...I was traveling north, when from a distance I saw an on coming car turning into a subdivision, but not moving, infact she looked like she was stopped..As I said it was raining, and as I neared the car, I said Lady you better move it...still it sat there..I could not stop any faster since I started to skid, there was no shoulder and it is went off the road to avoid the a wreck we would of landed in a large deep ditch..I told TJ and Brianna to hold on, I have to hit the car...Once I did that the car spun around and hit the Yukon behind her...Poor old ladies they were on there way to church for a pot luck dinner and game night for members 55 and over...lol...Guess her mind was on her scrabble game since she told us that she thought she would not make the drive and would land in the ditch so she was stopped and gonna back up..lol...NO you can not do that on such a busy road with traffic coming at you from both directions....lol....Anyway, you can only imagaine my situation with nerven TJ...Oh, my God, lol....Brianna was really cool, but TJ was besides himself..I dared him to speak to that old lady or the cops..lol All in all, my grocery go getter only had the fender dented and Danny came to the wreck and pulled it out with a crow bar...my door is stuck on the drivers side and the right bumper and lights are history..THe yukon, slight damage...Old lady's car, well lets just say, I hope she won BIG at game night she was gonna attend...Her car was totaled..It was so funny, guess what was the first thing she took out of her car?  Her SCRABBLE game and was upset because the marbles to her Chineese Checkers was all spilt..lol..To funny !!!!!!!  I asked her if she liked to play Scrabble, and she told me she was the "CHAMP"..Never did she get upset, even with the blood running down her arm and her passengers arm...lol   All the people to game night stopped to see about her...lol..She told her friend, I hope I still have my 2 nickles...I asked about that and she told me that is what it cost to get into the games..lol..lol...

Well, Miss Brianna turned 3 today, and since Mommy, Daddy and brother is at the hospital, we had her party there..Her Big party will be this coming weekend..When I sang her Happy Birthday this morning, she told me" Yeap, I am three and smart too." lol

Needless to say I do hope this coming week is a little quite, although almost everyday I have running around to do...

Oh, this is too funny.....For those of you that know TJknow what I am fixin to tell you is really an IMPOSSIBLE task for me to accomlpish...For the last 2 months I guess, about 4 days a week he wakes up hoarse and stays that away most of the day..I took to a specialist last week and he told TJ not to "TALK" till friday and put him infection meds. TJ is large, so the doctor was unable to see his vocal cords..He told him to rest them and we would see him again on Fri. Went back on Fri. with NO change.(of course he did not stop talking either) so until Wed. he is suppose to still be resting his vocals..if no better they will put him to sleep to look at htem and may need surgery..He thinks there maybe poulps(ms)  (i need to invest in a dictionary..lol) So anyway, this was an unthinkable thing to ask of us..Dr. told me to get a big stick and every time he opened his mouth, hit him...More like a pipe and duc tape...lol

One of Seth's friends asked me today if I wanted to take in an exchange student from France for 3 weeks...ROTFLOL...I told him one day on my homestead, he would leave and head back to France telling them that the usa is really crazy...lol Needless to say with 10 people in this house, one more would be a little tight, even if it is only for 3 weeks..Hey, I got a brain storm right now.......i could get the student and when he/she would head back I could stow away in their luggage..lol

I think that is all for now..Brianna wants me to play a game on the puter with her..I am into all the games that you have to find objects in rooms and she is so fast at locating things I tell her to find...So off I go to another world...lol

Hope your weekend was as exciting as mind.......Thanks for stopping in...Debbie

baby drake in need of your prayers

I come once again to ask for prayers...It is so wonderful to know I have a place to vent my fears, cares, tears, joys and ask for prayers to be sent to our heavenly Father.. You here are so awesome and caring...

Our Little Drake, 10 days old already, was brought to the ER in the wee hours last night, running a temp..

The doctors said a baby this young should not be running a temp of any sort. They have ran lots of test, urnine, blood, spinal tap...He is admitted into the hospital..We just do not know if he will be in PICU or the regular baby floor...

The doctor said it could be infection in the blood, menegists(ms) unrine infection..number of things...but they will not let him out till they find the cause of this fever..He did say there is something going around that the kids are getting and it causes fever but no other symptoms..

Drake is no longer eating, but not crying....I really do not have any idea what this could be...LOL how could I since the doctors have NO idea yet.. I will post updates as I know...

Thanks for your prayers in advance and always, Thanks for visiting...

A newborn's conversation............

This was in my email this morning...I have read it before several times, but never get tired of it....Hope you enjoy it too...

A newborn's conversation with God....

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?'  God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' and ;God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you .  And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?'  God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most

Lift a mother's spirit, send this to every mother you know no matter how old her child is.

beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?'  God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?'  God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.'  God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

 Thanks for stopping in.....Debbie

in the past

How many of these pictures will you know or remember?

The weather has been so beautiful and cool in the early mornings..By the afternoon if you are not in the share there is heat and sunburns..Rain is much needed for the farmers and the new growing flowers...We see the dark skies and then NOTHING>>>lol so out with the water hose daily, which is nice for me since that is my quite time and believe me there is not much of that around our homestead.

Drake and mommy are both doing fine. He eats, sleeps and poops...Normal baby stuff..lol..Mommy as usual is hard headed and wants to do more than she should be doing since she has had a c-section. By early afternoon she is ready for napping since has over done it and is hurting...

Brianna is loving her new brother and her new role as Big sister...lol...she was running a 102.5 temp last night, so NO Drake today..She settled in with her puppy and was quite content..

Seth bought him his first truck yesterday...He will have to wait a couple on months though to drive it since he will not get his license till he is 17 and can pay for his own insurance. Is he proud of it...washed it twice in two days and this afternoon he put a wax job on it...Came out really shinning...He will start working at Mc Donalds on Weds. although Sonic we found out would be a better place to work. SO we shall see.He has been so different since they have started him on his meds...I guess the dear heart needed this for years, and we just did not know it..

Doodle Bug has adjusted well...She would call her mom nightly for the first few nights and then skipped 2 nights and called her again last night. I feel so sorry for her..When she speaks to her mom, I can tell KC does not say much since Doodle never answers questions..I think she must of been high last night, since Doodle had to ask the same questions 2 or 3 times before she got an answer..Tonight she called and never got an answer..Yesterday she bought her a puppy and what an ordeal that was..lol...it is only about 7 weeks old and cost more than the money she had, but she got it anyway...lol...It is suppose to be a toy terrier, but he has NO features of one. We may have gotten Jacked as the kids say...We went from NO dogs(puppies) to 3..

TJ has been quite aggerivated the last 2 weeks, and bad temper tantruims..I do not if it is all the change, which he does not take well or that it is because they have changed his meds...but something is going on that is NOT good...I am the only one that can calm him down, so makes it harder on me..If everyone would just let him be until we see the doctor on the 7th, but oh, No they have to push his buttons...hopefully on the 7th something will be done to get him back on the right track..

Danny (hubby)goes to his heart doctor tomorrow. I do pray all goes well...He had a spell 2 weeks ago that ended him up in the ER..all they said checked out ok, but I think there is something going on..maybe more blockage..when he had his heart attack going on three years he was really moody, short tempered, tired and that is how it is now..tomorrow maybe we will know more...I will try and make the appointment with him...you know men they do not always tell the truth with the way they are feeling and Danny does not see him self as one with these symptoms...

As for me, it goes the same....cleaning, cooking, shopping, nursing, babysitting and the list goes on...I love my JOBS...and thank GOD I am able to do it all....My flowers are growing...Oh, I found a wonderful side of the road deal late yesterday afternoon.. While I was riding Doodle Bug on the 4 wheeler our neighbor about a 1/2 mile down the road had pulled up on his palm trees. The ones that do not grow tall, it is more like a bush maybe...hard to explain, but we have been wanting to get a couple to put on both sides of our drive way...any way I stopped and asked it I could get them(4) and he said sure...lol..I sent Seth to pick them up, too heavy, so Seth, my brother in law and myself went back to get them...Seth was SOOOO embarrassed..lol...Low and behold while we were loading them up two of his friends on 4 wheelers passed by and stopped,..lol lol..he told them"Oh, that is for my Meme she loves to pick up stuff on the side of the road." lol  They cost about $100 for that size...I got 4 and the cost was FREE..Plus and added freeby was I got about 15 blubs to plant hoping they will take...Not that I need them, but someone else will...and I can share the free stuff...I will take pictures of all I spoke with on another day, since none is downloaded yet...

I guess that wraps up our Homestead life for now. I hope your days for full of blessings as our is...

Thanks for stopping in...May God bless each of you...Debbie

Isn't the LORD good...GREAT !!!!

I tell you all that the LORD is SOOOO awesome, which I know each of you wonderful friends already know...Here is my week news.........

I wrote yesterday that we went to court and got full custody of Doodle Bug. What a hard three years it took us to get this far...Went through all the proper channels with the child welfare, what a joke. I still am wondering "why do they get paid for, what do they do for there pay?" They continued telling me the mother was ok...and would drop the case...all the windows that would open for us would close us shut, until...............

I finally hired a lawyer that handles childrens best interest...the process took months, but that was only because it took that long to get on the court dockits...

The day finally arrived for the hearing officer to take our statement..I posted about that....she was court ordered to take a drug test that day across from the court house that did not happen, and our lawyer also told her that there are 2 warrents in our parish for her arrest...NO room in the jail to put her in that is why she was not arrested on that day...

Yesterday was a very stressful day...I prayed all the way to the court house and left it in the Lords hands. But by human nature I still had butterflies in my stomach. KC(mother) did not show, which that did not surprise me one bit...Oh, the judge was aweful, you can tell that the children are his main concern....I knew that the LORD was closing windows but opened WIDE a door....Thank you Lord.......We got everything that we were asking for...Father of Doodle will get every other holiday and on the weekends of his choice...Which we totally agreed upon. Mom get surpervised visitation ONLY !!!! NO holidays....NO summer breaks....And she will have to come in my town, not for me to go and bring Doodle Bug to her....AMEN on that...

I tell you friend I was so excited, happy, wanting to cry so many emotions...I told the judge that this was one of my happiest days of my life...He look at us and he said I am so proud that you love you gkids so much you would do this for them...Hey, what else would one do. I am not doing anything that I would not want someone else to do for me...He then told me to go and get the child and enjoy raising her..

The next 2 hours were really hard...I am smoker and I tell you what, that 2 hours proved that I am a TURE smoker..lol...I smoked so much, I prayed so hard all the way there..Still knowing in my heart of hearts that we would find her, God still had not closed our door..I could not stop talking, I was driving my hubby crazy...lol..I called the school to see if Doodle had attended school that day and of course they would not give out that information...so I stopped along the way and faxed them the judges orders, which stated they were to help us retrieve Doodle...Once we got into town, we went to the sheriff's office and they escorted us to the school, just to find that she NO longer attended. She was checked into another school just that morning...OH< no !!!! I guess they saw my expression, since they told me don't worry we know where she is at and we have already called the school to hold her and not let her get on the bus...PRAISE YOU JESUS.......

I thought maybe the mother would be there to pick her up and the officer said, " she will be in for a rude awakening, and put off the school property."She was not there and they called Doodle to the office. I will never forget the look on her little face when she saw us and the cop there...Her first words were,"where is momma?" I told her that her mom was at home where ever that was. I explained to her that her mom did nothing wrong and did not give her away, nor did pappy and meme take her away. The judge was the boss and he told us that you had to come with us to be safe and have a good life. She then asked for how long and I told her till she was 18..OH, was what she said and that was it..She did tell my son TJ last night that she was glad to be here...

To back up a bit, on the way home Doodle Bug wanted to call her mom. so pappy says I will talk to her first, explain that we have you and then you can talk...there was no answer...about 30 mins later I guess when Doodle did not get off the bus she called us and Hubby answered..He asked why she was not at court and her response was. I had business out of town. She then asked, do you have Doodle Bug? Danny(hubby) said what do you think? and she then said FU dad and hung up on him. NO even asking to speak to Doodle..I did not let her call her mom back at that moment..Last night she called her  mom and Doodle said her mom was crying. I told Doodle yes she is crying, she is missing you like you will miss her, but you know Doodle she had her day in court and she did not show up..It is not our fault that happened..She understands that...

I am sorry for this long drone out story but I am show excited I had to share with those of you that have been following my story..

Now, to the other story....Baby Drake waited till Doodle arrived..lol

We are heading to the hospital this morning to see the arrival of the new baby...Heather is 4 cinameters and gonna be amitted into the hospital at 9 this morning...so we should have a baby by late this afternoon..Will surely have pictures of our NEW bundle sent from heaven on my next post...lol

Have a wonderful day dear friends, God bless each of you for putting up with me....Thanks for stopping in .....Love ya  Debbie
