A Mom's Musings

Posted in camp quest

...you know He's working!  He may be working in your life, or in the lives of others, but one way or another, He's doing something.

I am so wanting to sell our house - now!  There are so many camp postings in the database right now that we would have 5 or 6 to apply to!!  And they are all so interesting in their own right.  The Adirondacks of New York?....the Oregon coast?....the mountains of southern California?....or how about the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!  *sigh*  If only we could get a contract on this place, with a closing date on the horizon.

But I've been through this long enough to know that God IS working.  He WILL send a buyer for our house, in His timing, and open the next door, wherever that may be.  I can't say that I want another season of waiting, but at least I know how to get through one! LOL!  It's been almost a year since we first started our camp quest, and what a year it's been.  I know that what I perceive as silence on the Lord's part really isn't that at all.  Our human perspective is so limited but since it's all we know, it can be hard to overcome!

In the words of Bilbo Baggins at the end of The Return of the King:  "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure!"

• Thursday, November 1, 2007 - Encouragement for You

Posted by Anonymous
Hi there. You don't know me, but I'm an assistant pastor in Oregon. I came to your blog just doing a google search for Brandon Heath lyrics. I skimmed your blog to find what I was looking for, then got intrigued by some of your blog and skimmed a bit more. I just sensed the Lord wanted me to encourage you. Here's what comes to my heart:
Psalm 20 - especially the verse about some trust in chariots (or contractors, or realtors, or anyone's word, or whatever else we can find). I think you're learning where you're real trust is and God's gonna spring a surprise on you as only he can. You'll have no doubt it was him. As you're faithful, obedient, and wait on him. He'll do it. There are other believers all over the U.S. who are in transition regarding housing, jobs, churches, ministries, etc. God's speaking something about how he wants to dwell within us, have us let go of what we clung to, and step out in radical devotion to Him.
I'm praying for you today. I'm going to stay anonymous cause I really want this just to be a sign of God's goodness to you. We'll maybe get to chat about it if God crosses our paths again, or we'll do it in heaven. Really though, it's about His love for you. That's why I can't help but write this. Stay focused and determined, keep his perspective, don't get distracted from his promise and his heart. He's your prize. It's gonna be worth it. May God bless you and your family!

Psalm 20 -
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.

3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
Selah

4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

9 O LORD, save the king!
Answer us when we call!
