It's downright chilly in the house this morning! There was steam pouring out of the pot when I fixed my coffee!! You don't see that on a warm, muggy day. It was just 54 when I got up at 8:00 so I'm sure we dipped into the upper 40s last night. I am dreading the real cold that will come this fall, and all too soon. Cold is painful. Heat is just uncomfortable. Cold goes right to my bones these days and I don't enjoy that! Our days have been very nice, though, in the 80s for the most part. I'm trying to enjoy some time on our deck each day, while we're still in this house and while the weather is still nice.
Of course there are always projects to do, as well as prepare to start home schooling. One of these days I need to make a list of reading materials and supplies we'll need for our first unit, so I'm not scrambling at the last minute (which is my tendency...).
I may do the farmer's market this weekend. We could use some extra cash in the pot right now. Hubby has no overtime scheduled this month whatsover, and missed work yesterday (unpaid) due to a severe dizzy spell. He thinks it's just from over-doing the rides with the boys on Sunday at the amusement park, and I hope he's right. His dad has suffered from some inner-ear/balance thing in his later life so we are praying my DH didn't inherit some weird condition. Don't need that right now! I can honestly say I'll take money woes over health woes any day.
Yesterday I took my youngest (5) to the horse farm where he will be starting lessons soon! He LOVED it and talked about it the rest of the day. He's so excited. Yesterday he got to brush one of the ponies and feed it some treats. He catches right on to the proper way to be around horses, that's for sure! He has a respect for their size but no fear of these animals at all. My prayer is that one day we'll be able to have our own horses and he and I can ride together...

Anyhow, I just think it's funny how God wired each of us so differently. We are going on vacation to Crater Lake (at 4,100 ft.) the first week of SEptember. They don't have electric hookups at the campground, and I am excited about the cool nights we will have. Last year, around this same time, we went to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons (at 8,000 ft.), and you could see your breath in the camper in the mornings because we had no heat. I actually took my hair dryer and went to the restroom (where there were electric outlets) just so I could warm up my feet.
OK, enough rambling. Enjoy your day!
