Well we are having what I have always termed "Florida weather" here in NH the last few days, but now it seems like good practice for a pending move! My husband is so pumped up over this prospect and it's so nice to see him excited over it. He was out working on our van this morning, sweat pouring down the poor man's face, and was just happy as a pig in mud. It's 91 in the shade right now and our dew points are in the low 70s so it is MUGGY. I'm just relaxing in the house with a fan going and it's pretty comfortable. I did go and pick another batch of beans this morning for my MIL, who came for a visit, and I have to say that's not something I'd want to have to do for hours on end in this weather!! Yikes....
Part of the reason my DH was so excited about all his mechanical work this morning was that he a) fixed it so the heat can turn OFF, b) discovered that the rear vents DO work, and c) discovered that the a/c also works!!! What he'd been putting off as a big job turned out to be nothing more than a few fuses (he was so mad at himself but SO happy at the same time). Having working a/c would be a necessity if we were to take this van to Florida so this is great news. It's otherwise perfect, since it has tinted windows all around and is only rear-wheel drive (it stinks in the snow!!). It's also got all the room we need for our family so we weren't wanting to part with it.
He also found out at work last night that all this overtime they were supposed to have this month has all but dried up, so he will only have one Saturday he's able to work and no Sundays. This is not good news to us financially, but was further proof to my husband that's he doing the right thing in making plans to move on, and that we should NOT be putting our trust in ANY job! That's Biblical, but it's one thing to say it and another thing all together to put it to practice! lol!!
