Wow, what a week it's been! On Tuesday my hubby spoke with the two guys from CO, for two hours! It was a very good and fruitful conversation. At its conclusion, they said they'd be calling him back the next morning. They called him back within the hour! They invited him out (which he's doing in 2 weeks) and essentially they would like to have him, and the final decision is up to him.
Now, on Thursday, the guy from the NH camp came here to visit. Last time we'd spoken with him on the subject, there was no on-site housing available, and that was a big issue to us. Turns out it's a big issue for them, too, as they would really like to have a maintenance man on-site for those emergencies that are bound to come up in a large facility! So, in a nutshell, there would be housing on the horizon, and they would provide something for us if needed on a short-term basis until that happened, AND their timing for hubby to start has become very flexible due to some staff changes that have occured. That is a very key point for us, since our house has to sell before we can move.
I have simply stopped gnawing on this one, because I could be very happy in either place, for very different reasons, but very happy. And the bottom line is, it's my husband's [prayerful!] decision, not mine!! That's actually quite a relief to me! He knows I'm willing to go either place, with a peaceful heart. He will talk more detail with CO when he's out there as far as the flexibility of their timing, letting them know the house has to sell. We crunched some numbers to see if we could continue to make the mortgage payment, if it hadn't sold and we wanted to move, but since the camp jobs provide housing and living expenses, the actual paycheck is much less than what he's making now, and it would just be too tight. It's all in the Lord's hands and I'm so excited to see what He does!! |
