"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
This is a verse the Lord impressed upon me years ago and it always give me encouragement. I love the last part of it - too often I see it quoted only as vs. 11, the first part. But the latter reminds us that we have an active role in our relationship with God! If we really want to know Him, and know His will, we need to seek Him wholeheartedly.
This was also the key verse in Charles Stanley's daily devotional today. I find it very timely since we are scheduled to talk with the camp in CO later this morning! I'm excited but peaceful. This is one of the final steps before they come to a decision. On Thursday the guy from the NH camp is coming here, so it promises to be a busy week!
It's hard to keep a normal daily household schedule with so many other things going on. Since we've been inside the last two days with the ice storm, I've managed to get all the laundry done (a normal Monday chore anyway, but I was able to start and finish without being sidetracked!). I also need to do up new chore charts for this week. It's real easy to let that slide - I'm a homemaker, this is my job, and I'm just so used to taking everything to task myself. It is nice, though, when everyone is helping out! "Many hands make quick work" as they say. It's a lesson in patience for me, too, with the youngest, watching him perform his tasks and then keeping myself from "fixing" it when he's done. Of course the end result won't be perfect but he just needs to be praised for a job well done & good effort and then I need to let it go!
Before I go I'll share a scene from our storm yesterday...
