Welcome 2007!

I took the initiative to make some changes for the better in our family this year, and suddenly I feel so organized!  My home is running so smoothly!  Why did it take me this long to DO this?!!

First of all, I downloaded and printed out The Homemaker's Journal: Keeping House by Melissa Ringstaff (www.avirtuouswoman.org).  It's an impressive volume but so full of good stuff.  I keep it on my kitchen counter for a handy reference to the daily & weekly schedules.  Along side that I implemented a chore chart for my boys - was that ever a long time coming!!  Suddenly I feel like I actually have some help around here and we're functioning as we should, every one doing his/her part to help out and make the house a home.  The 10-yr. old is balking a bit (he'll get used to it!) but the 7- and 5-yr. olds are having a great time.

I'll be really happy when I have them all home for school again.  The two older boys went back to class today after a week off for Christmas and already I'm missing last week.  I hate being on someone else's schedule.  Blah.

Hubby is also back to work.  He's putting his nose to the grindstone for now and toughing it out.  We can see the light at the end of the tunnel and he is so ready to move on.

I'm entering '07 with a positive outlook and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for our family!
