Cold start to the day today!  There's a heavy frost on everything.  Kinda looks like snow!  Never thought I'd actually be wishing for the white stuff.  Our next storm coming on Monday is supposed to be that lovely New England mix of rain/snow/ice.  Blah.  Meanwhile Denver is getting yet more snow!  Send some to me!!

I am going to visit my mother tomorrow and will spend some time today cooking a few things for her.  I'll do a couple loaves of wheat bread and I'm also going to make up a pot of the soup-in-a-jar that I made for gifts at Christmas.  I still have plenty of the ingredients so I may as well try it out!  She loves homemade soup.

Our kitchen counters are in and look great!  Hard to believe when we moved in there was an entire wall that was open and unused.  Talk about wasted space.  That's because when the house was built 30 years ago they put in electric baseboard heating, and despite later changing to FHA gas, the baseboard remained in place and took up an entire wall.  We ripped it out straight away when we got here, and have now filled the wall with cabinets and much-needed counter space!  Looks like a real kitchen now.
