Wa-hoo!!!! Just heard from the camp in NH! They are still very interested in my husband as an applicant. We are looking at making some plans in January to meet with them again and talk further. I am SO relieved right now, and upon reading the e-mail, I could literally see the tension melt off hubby!
The Lord spoke to me at church yesterday, and made me realize this is a season of rest for us. We have been making a point to not get caught up in what can be a very, very busy time of year anyway. I love Christmas and the anticipation of everything, but I refuse to get crazy over it. The kids get a few gifts but we are really focusing on Jesus' birth this year, and being thankful for our family, health and many blessings we have. The Lord made me realize that now is the time for rest, to focus on Him, and just to be still. Once a camp position does come through, things in our life will start moving fast and we will be grateful for the rest we have now.
On the subject of Christmas being non-commercial, I am making some gifts this year that I am very excited about! I finally picked up my needlework stuff again and am doing a counted cross-stitch panel of an angel. The pattern and fabric belonged to my husband's grandmother, who went home to her Lord in 2000. I'm finally putting it all together. Not sure yet what it will become, whether a wall hanging or pillow or what have you. I'm also making a "something" from a small needlework piece that Grandma did do herself. It's just a little white linen square with a delicate pink flower on it. Not sure what she intended it to be, but I'm going to make a quilted wall hanging out of it, with this at the center. I'll post some pictures in the near future as the projects come along! |
