Well, the Chili Pie went over like the heavy iron pan it was prepared in! If the recipe book is called "One Bite Won't Kill You," someone really ought to fill my kids in on this.... So hubby and I have been enjoying several meals of this dish! Good thing we like it. I did post the recipe under my Recipe category (though I have yet to figure out how to access that as a category, separate from my other stuff). Anywho...
Now that the rain has gone away and it's sunny and warm out, the mosquitoes have arrived in droves. We all smell like bug spray around here, but it beats being chewed alive by the little buggers (no pun intended). We've got West Nile and "triple E" around here, too, so I'm just not taking chances. I don't know about you but I really look forward to our Lord's "new heaven and new earth" someday, when all this awful "result of the fall" stuff is long gone!!
When the boys aren't running around outside (read: when they've had enough of the bugs!) they are inside watching Star Wars for the umpteenth time! Betcha didn't know that Anakin & Obi Wan & Count Dooku lived at MY house! Some days I'm quite sure they do. The only episode I won't let them watch yet is #3, Revenge of the Sith. I found it to be very dark, and more about the evil that takes over Anakin than the simple battle scenes of the other movies. And that's that...
The boys have been bugging me for another dog again lately. I'm hedging over this one given the fact that we are hoping to move within the next year. But then again if it takes longer, then I'm making them wait for nothing. I couldn't have a dog growing up, despite my intense love affair with Lassie through the TV. We've had dogs in the past but have been without now since last December. I've actually got a lead on some retired sled dogs for adoption!! That would be cool. We love the northern breeds (anything to do with or remind us of Alaska, don'tcha know....!). I'll have to write all about our Alaskan adventure in another entry before too long....*sigh* Anyway, we'll take it a day at a time and see what becomes of getting another dog. |
