Sunday & VBS

10:38, 2008-Jun-2 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link
Well it was a different kind of Sunday for us. We didn't go to church! Mat had a 2 o'clock game and we had an easy morning and went out for lunch and then to the game. When we got home, Dh mowed. I was shooting for bad mom of the day award yesterday. I did sunscreen both boys so I am a winner there!LOL But I was getting ready to make granola bars and brownies nad Mat says, what's that VBS on the calendar? OMW!!!!!!!!!!! It was about 6:45 and VBS started at 6:30! Joey LOVES this VBS and I had just sent him outside to swing (Dh was mowinga nd Mat had just walked in from his mowing). So I threw my shorts on and grabbed my purse and ran out the door hollaring for Joey to run to the van. No big deal yet...... Joey's excitedly going on and on about VBS and how great it is, etc and well over halfway there (and we are in the middle of NOWHERE), he says, I really love snacks the most. Oh crud. I did not feed my boy supper!!!!!!!!!!! We weren't going to eat until DH came in from mowing! So not only was he 30 min late for VBS, but I sent him w/o supper as well!ROTFL!!!!!! They said he did great. He missed most of craft time, but I guess they helped him whip up a birdhouse (and these aren't cheap, chinsy birdhouses--this place typically does NICE crafts!). He was super excited about painting it tonight and I told him that he wasn't going cuz he had Tball practice. He announced that VBS was MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than Tball. Well, I have to say that I agree, but it's the whole, we already made a commitment thing. So I told him that he'd have to discuss it w/daddy. So daddy told him to call his coach and talk to him and Joey's going to miss practice and go to VBS. This isn't good for the gas budget since Mat has a game following Joey's practice, but oh well.
