Mat is full of suprizes........

Well I'll start off by saying that I woke up after 3 and couldn't get back to sleep so I am EXHAUSTED! But I did some pilates and made it out the door. I was listening to the local radio and a couple I knew won the big Valentine Day prize ($5000 prize!). That was cool! The co-op went well, too. The experiments were really good and the children really seem to like things so far. Some got started on their project today as well. Mat's Hitler report went well. I didn't hear all of it, but what I heard was good. Joey made a weather vane (vein?).  While there I was reminded that the library's Immigration presentation was today....so we were in town MUCH longer than I planned. I was going to be home by noon, but made it closer to 4 since we stayed. I convinced the boys that chinese sounded good and it's cheap cuz one meal feeds all 3 of us. And it's walking distance from the library.;) One lady came here from Germany when she was 10. She had a lot to say, but it was interesting! She had lots of her things to show us, which was neat. Joey asked her how to  say grilled cheese in German!LOL It was pretty funny and then the lady from the paper wanted his personal info so I've got a friend keeping an eye on the paper for me.;) The next lady was from Canada. To say that Mat learned alot about his study on Canada is an understatement!LOL He knew that Baniff (sp?) was the 5th largest island in the world and that Canada follows Russia landwise! He knew lots of other stuff as well. I was actually having to shush him at times!

The former children's librarian was there and her DH was just elected city judge and she took us over to his office. What a great impromtu field trip! They met hte mayor's wife and she gave them some specially made coin. Then the judge put on his robe and posed /w teh boys behind the bench for pics. We got to ask all kinds of questions, too. I learned alot anyway!LOL

Finally home, where we unloaded. Mat's sheets are shot (literally teh flat sheet is torn in two) so we had gotten him new sheets nad I got some odoban and some valentines on clearance. Well the oboban LEAKED. So I"m hoping the Vday box will dry out and I can put those back (the valentines themselves were still good!). Nothing was ruined, but the whole house smells like odoban!!!!!!

Supper is super easy--veggie chowder that I yanked out of the freezer and frozen fish sticks........
