Doing something right?

I had the BEST conversation w/Mat today! First I did work out and my foot is bothering me again. And I got the $80 strep throat bill.....geez! We also made all the "Happy Valentine Day' phone calls.....FIL never found the papers from the lawyer. Dh had copied them so we are sending him our copies (well a copy of our copies). We went to the bulk food store and got some things. I had an order for a friend as well. I thought we'd just eat at McD's cuz they were advertising free Sweet Tea. I'm not a big fan of McD's, so when we are in the 'big' town, I much prefer to eat somewhere else. But cheap is cheapL!OL I have been wanting to try the sweet tea, but I didn't want to payfor it!LOL  So we picked up DH's trial contacts and activated my debit card and went to the health food store, where I finally gave up and bought some hoodia. We'll see how this goes.... I almost bought a carb blocker, but it was crazy expensive. And I got hte boys more elderberry. So we get to McD's and THEY WEREN"T OFFERING FREE SWEET TEA! I wasn't the only one in line who asked! Sorry, but I think that's WRONG WRONG WRONG! I even stood at the cashiers adn asked the boys if they wanted to eat somewhere else!LOL Oh well. While at McD's, I asked Mat how much of his Hitler presentation we had planned. THAT was the great conversation! That 4.5 hour book on CD really sunk in w/him! We talked about propaganda, freedom of press, religion, speech, etc. He talked about children had to report to the Hitler Youth (the only organization they could belong to) and if they reported something bad, their parents could be killed. He talked about the White Rose, where the college students speaking otu against Hitler were caught and how the reacted during their executions. He also spoke of how Hitler called the infirmed/delayed 'wasteful eaters' cuz they could provide no service for him. The Ayran race, etc. etc. So we need to get this written down as notes for him to discuss tomorrow. He also asked if some things were appropriate to discuss in class tomorrow. Days like these remind that there is hope!LOL

Unfortunately, we ALL forgot to go to the grocery so I've got to call Dh adn beg him to go buy a bag of diced ham for the cheesy potato soup.......

And I have to chop up what I can for tomorrow's anatomy class. It's on senses so I have onions, potatoes, pears, and apples to chop up, but i"m going to wait on the pears adn apples (browning). I need to soak cotton balls in garlic and vanilla overnight too.

As a totally cool aside: I called my mom just this am and asked her to watch the boys on the day of the church meal for the 2 hours that I was going to prep. Well Mat said that he wanted prep too, so it was just going to be Joey. I had prayed cuz my attitude wasn't all that stellar while browning that beef on Tuesday. I sort of feel 'put upon' cuz I'm a SAHM. The others said, but I work. One man is a teacher and I was wondering how apprecative HE would be if he were expected to brown meat for 4 horus while he taught....... Anyway, I confessed that I wasn't being very servant like and moved on. So today, in the mail, I get postcard for both boys that at the church at 4 (when I planned on getting there), the youth are taking the stuff to the shelter!!!!!!!! The exact times that I wanted them to be watched! How nice was that! And that our last offering was given totally to the youth to use at the shelter.;) So I'm relieved--it will save me probably 30min since I don't have to take them out to my parents' home. They are picked up and dropped back off at the church.;)
