Is Jesus enough for you?

A good friend is having a very difficult time turning 40. And I had this conversation w/her:

 M: Dana, if I live to be 80, my life is half over! What do I have to show for it?

 Me: A healthy son? Yea... A good marriage? Yea... Jesus? Yea... Then what else do you need?

 M: I know, but what have I done?

Me: You'll do what God tells you to do.

M: But I dont' know what that is.

Me: Maybe he hasn't told you yet! (if I'd really been thinking, I'd have told her that the Israelites wondered around in the dessert for 40 years waiting for the Promised Land!)

M: I know but........

Me: HOW OLD WAS SARAH WHEN SHE HAD HER first CHILD?????? I THINK YOU ARE YEARS AHEAD OF HER!!!!!!!!!!!

That was pretty much the end of the conversation. I just felt for her. She said that she was ready to cry thinking about turning 50 in 10 years. I was thinking of what a blow out party I'm gonna have when I turn 50! BRING ON THE GIFTS! ROTFL!!!!!!!! (just kidding)

I am turning 40 this year!

I am going to be turning 40 this coming year and I am *very excited* about that!!!! I believe the Lord can grow us no matter where we are at in our lives........ I am so thankful that I have been tutored by the hand of the Lord all these years..... I wouldn't trade the trials for anything.... for they are worth more than gold! Oh if only your friend could see life that way...... Jesus is enough.... if all we have when life is over and done...... Jesus is enough!

Joel 2:25-27
25 "I (*I* is God) will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
the great locust and the young locust,

At 40, I felt like I was "having" a Moses moment...(you know, do nothing of note for 40 years then something BIG happens)...then I discovered I really "wanted a Moses moment"...well, sorta...then I realized, naw, not really..... I wanted to do what I wanted to do, and my "Moses moment" wasn't important enough to stop me in my tracks and change. I said the same things......and my reason was this "oooo I am 1/2 dead and haven't lived for Him.....I am in trouble!!"

Here it is 2 years later....

In my heart, I knew my choices were selfish. I knew I was choosing my self, my agenda, my desires over His.
This past December, I chose to be obedient to Him. In a big area of my life......part of transferring *my* life over to Him....
When the Spirit 'digs in with His spurs' it *should* move us. When we don't......we get stale. Then we live a life of regrets. As soon as I get real, confess my selfishness, and seriously die to self and live for Him.....only then can I be free of the " wow my life is 1/2 over, what have I done's"!!!
