birthday and colds........

Mom's bday was OK. The cake wasn't even all that great. I'm not sure that "Ive had a walmart cake before and will not go out of my way to get one again.;) But she got her spatula and the clothes shaver is on it's way (my sister ordered it online Sat cuz we couldn't find any locally). She also got a dvd/vcr player cuz theirs broke. She was mad sayign that was supposed to be a joint Xmas gift and not for her bday and I told her tough!LOL

Joey and I have colds. Well I"m fighting mine off w/garlic, honey and echinachea, but I can't get JOey to eat garlic (Mat will) so he's taking the long road. We stocked up on nighttime cold meds for the boys and bought  a few cans of chicken noodle soup so we are ready. Mat already volunteered to make me one for lunch today! I'm waiting for him to come down w/this. I hope not this weekend cuz it's the Civil War day sand I really want to go! We've been the past 2 years, but they are doing Civil War in the coop so it ties in perfectly!

I also got the homeschool skating set up. WHEW! I hope this works! I want to open it up to 2 other counties and got a concern right away. I told her we'd sit on it the 1st time and see what happens. I don't think the turn out would be all that great from those counties, but I wanted it offered. We are pretty remote and we really need to pool our resources.

SO I'm doing  laundry while I still feel well and have pork chops out for supper. I think steamed veggies to go w/it. My friend wants me to watch her baby (well she's almost 1yo!LOL) tomorrow (yes, even tho we are sick!) and I need to at least feel well enuf to do that. She can't find anyone else on this short notice, which is fine.
