It's in the lower 40s but certainly doesn't feel like it. Mat's outside flying a kite right now! It was a long day (and not nearly over), but it's been soooooooo nice. MOMS group was nice. The lady that just lost her baby boy was there and she seemed to be doing OK. She talked about it some and I always think that's a bit therapuetic. They've gotten lots of financial help, which is wonderful in a time like that. Funerals just aren't cheap. Today we went to the local tea room for brunch. It was divine as usual. While there we went over some details and one was that we had no 'plans' for our 4/19th meeting. Everyone voted to do necklaces, which is great, but I leaned over one of hte ladies on the steering committee and asked if I brought some fleece if we could make blankets to give to a pg center or charity or something. Most of them don't sew and time was an issue, but I figured we could crank out 2-3 of those little blankets quickly. I just wanted to do SOMETHING philanthropic. We were at different tables at the tea room,b ut all at one table back at the church and they wanted confirmation about that date. This time I brought up the idea in front of the group and the lady that just lost her son said that she was trying to join forces w/another charity that gives out 'baskets' to each new baby int he county (it's a small county). She's buying (getting donations for) angel pins and wants to print a poem or something and attach it w/ribbon. She's calling them Aiden's Angels after her son. Soooooooo, MOMS group will buy some pins and that's what we are doing that day! I thought that was so neat how that all worked out. What a way to truly show support for her! And it was brought up that we could just do this EVERY year as well. From the MOMS meeting we went to Ag Day. Again this is a small county so it's not anything big, but it's great for an hour distraction and plenty for my kids to do and I don't feel like I am constantly watchign for someone to 'steal' them. It was nice cuz 4 of us went (one was my neighbor who found out about it at MOMS) and they have grilled cheese sandwiches one booth gives away. They were really greasy, but it held the boys over until we got home. The kids had a blast w/the baby chicks too! We also got our recycled pencil and ruler stash for the year!LOL It was a nice time and the moms got to visit a bit longer. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 1742 of 1866 } { Next Page } |
