MIL passed away

Sorry I went MIA, but we had bad storms rip thru here that night and the wireless towers were knocked out.;(

I had tried to call DH from 10-midnight last Wed and since they were in the ER, he could only call from outside. But a policeman had been shot and the entire hospital was on lockdown for 2 hours. So DH called after that and updated me. I got to bed about 1 and at 2, the winds were so awful they woke me. I knew storms were coming thru, but they were all supposed to be north. I figured the beach towel on the back of the deck was long gone, but 'something' told me to go look. I heard this banging noise and it was the porch canopy hanging on by one peg banging into the roof! If it had gotten loose, it would've done some major damage to the house (broken windows, shingles, etc). So I fought 40mph winds wrestling that thing over my head and finally got it shoved in the house, along w/the cushion, pillows and beach towel. I checked the news and nothing was updated so I got back to sleep about 3am. Dh called at 5 saying that his mom has passed and to get things packed up and head out.

Once she knew he was coming, she refused pain meds so that she would be lucid when he got there. They all got a chance to talk and then she went back on the meds cuz she was in excruciating pain. Her children were all present when she passed.

FIL is taking this reallly hard. He really thought she was going to come home from the hospital. he needs any prayers that anyone will pray for him.
