MIgraines.......

I haven't had one in ages and I got hit HARD last night! My stomach hurt all evening and I forced myself to eat anyway thinking that was the problem. DH suggested protein cuz I hadn't really had any all day, too. I did feel a bit better, but then about 8:30 I got sick. I felt REALLY good after that, other than being tired and so I figured a good night's sleep was all that I needed. Dh was going to sleep in Mat's room so that he wouldn't catch what I had and I told him I wasn't contagious. I woke up about 3am with a POUNDING headache and I knew I was in trouble. My stomach was a mess and at 3:30, Dh left and told me to wake him at 6:15. I was thinking, if I"m still alive..........(seriously I was going ot be hard pressed to do this for him) I got up a few minutes after that and decided to try a coke. I could either be up in serious amounts of pain or up from a caffiene buzz. The second option sounded the most appealing. AFter 2-3 drinks, I ran to the bathroom. I felt a bit better, but I knew it wouldn't last. Right after that I took a nighttime sinus pill and drank some more coke and crawled back in bed and managed to sleep for a few minutes. I got sick again and felt tons better. And as a real blessing, Joey, who is normally up at 7, slept until AFTER NINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So while I'm still really dragging, I feel much better than I envisoned and can actually be something of a mom to him. With Mat not here, I was concerned if I was going to be totally bed bound.

Joey did say that his stomach hurt this am, but he says it's fine now. He doens't know that I was sick so I was a teeny bit worried that maybe I was indeed contagious!

Having endured all of that, I opted out of my normal vigorous Tuesday aerobic workout in exchange for a nice calming pilates one. I even managed to shower and wash the sheet's on the lower bunk. Mat's got some pulley system set up and DH messed up the bottom and I didn't want to upset Mat by messing up the top in order to wash his sheets.;) I was originally going nto clean the frig, but that will wait for another day when I have energy.......

Dana, I know you probably don't like to take meds much. However, I get those great migraines periodically, and can't seem to shake them sometimes, I try protein, caffiene, acutally anything that might work. I have now found that when I get one that bad, I take Excedrin Migraine. I don't know what it is about it, but it is wonderful. It is the only thing that can take care of it at times. Just a thought to ponder. Hey, they have it in generic that works just as well, I get it at Dollar General.
