What a Sunday!

I had a leisurely morning since I had only myself to get ready!LOL I picked some beets for a friend and we were off. We get to church and MY DAD AND BOYS ARE NOT THERE! My sister was (1st time Keylee's been!) and she didn't know where they were and then told me that someone was banging on their door at 1:30am. Lots of drunks do that, but I was starting to worry cuz DH snuck out to call my dad and NO ANSWER. My mom was speaking at another church and they were trying to convince me that mom took them there. After the service we still could not reach them and there was only one other guy that showed up for Sunday School so we bolted. I still had my beets and on the way out I saw an elderly lady adn she asked me if I wanted her plastic peanut butter jars to freeze veggies in. I tried to politely decline and told her that VBS could probably use them and she acted all offended. I was tired of holding the beets and realized that she was lamenting about not having a garden and offered them to her and she was thrilled! As was I to not have to carry them around!LOL. So out to my parents--2 vehicles gone. Back to the woods (where they spent hte night) no one. Grrrrrrrrrr I finally gave up and called my mom adn she did answer sayign that dad had them and that they had gone to hear her speak. WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!! Altho I was sort of glad they missed church since the guy doing the children's message handed out train whistles (yk, those wooden ones?)!ROTFL!!!!!!!

Joey voted taht we go to eat gyros instead of Taco Bell. I was wondering if the place made it thru the day w/o us!ROTFL! But it was a nice change of pace and we had to kill some time before funeral home #1 so we went back and I held Keylee and she threw up all over me!LOL Good thing I had on a black polyester dress!ROTFL! But she throws up on everyone so I wasn't singled out.;) Meanwhile Mat somehow cons my parents into letting him stay for THE WEEK. I"m just beside myself! Dh asked about school and I was thinking that he'd only done one day anyway so it wasn't going to matter that much!LOL I'm going back home on Wed to eat lunch w/a friend and hopefully visit w/another one so I'll get to touch base w/him then. VBS is this week so he'll be doing that and he hopes to recoup some of that $30 he lost cuz mom told him that she's got a list of things for him to do a mile long.

I also decided to see if mom had any black Vera microfiber small purses that I could buy. I have all this black and no plain black bags. She couldn't find her microfiber and gave me a stack to look thru. I said MOM YOU HAD A HUGE BAG OF MICROFIBER! I KNOW THIS ISN"T ALL OF IT! It's dark in that room adn she had the black on top and just couldn't see it!LOL So I found a super cute purse and need to see what it retails for so I can pay her. She also gave us our anniversary gift. MORE TOWELS! She gets us towels every year and every year I tell her we don't need them! WE have a HUGE stash in the closet of them!LOL And 2 small coolers. I wished she'd given them BEFORE baseball cuz they are perfect for that. Oh well, there is always soccer this fall. And a size small shirt for me. I don't know what she was thinking! I tried it on and it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to tight across the chest--as I figured it would be!

So off to funeral home #1. Dh wanted to use the GPS and it doesn't pull up funeral homes and he didn't get the addy (nor did he have hte name right!ROTFL!). So we finally get hte addy (before we left) and leave. We could NOT find the place--the GPS had it wrong. I was ROLLING cuz he thinks that thing is so cool and I don't!LOL This was for a coworker so by default I know there will be other coworkers there. GIven DH's position, he works w/a variety of ppl in both states thru various offices and companies. IWO, I know names and faces, but not always together!LOL We ran into some and we were leaving and I was in the van and DH was buckling up Joey when a guy came over. DH looks at me and says, know who he is? I'm thinking NO REALLY BUT THANKS FOR PUTTING ME ON THE SPOT! So I smiled and said vaguely? I hate to lie, but I didn't want to hurt feelings either so I was trying to make it sound like a joke.  The guys says, THANKS ALOT! I'm like GREAT! Obviously I'm supposed to know who he is and it just wasn't there. So we race off to funeral home #2. Only I was told it was at the church so we get there and no one is there!LOL So I call my friend and it's at the funeral home in town. We tried one and it was empty so we went to the other one and made it there right before the break in calling hours. It was nice to see her and her family. There are alot of them!LOL

DH was balking about eating out for supper so we bought chicken at Walmart. It was surprizingly good!

We finally got home and JOey's in bed and we are enjoying the house being all opened up. I did walk around and the weeds aren't too bad since we aren't getting any rain. I promised Joey a swim in the morning before library,b ut we'll see. We've got the reading program and I need more books and then back home.
