kids and school......

In the van ont he way home from the dentist Joey says, Can we play I spy w/my little eye? Sure.

J: I spy w/my little eye something gray
Me: The road?
J: No
Me: the sign (it was the back of it so it was metal!LOL)
J: No
Me: Well what then?
J: The sky (it was over cast)!ROTFL!

J: I spy w/my little eye something at Aunt Dama's house. He starts laughing--but you can't spy that!LOL

So then Mat brings up school. He's begging me for an animal book. Mom, just get me a snake book so I can study. No, you know more about snakes than the DNR (not really, but). PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE. No, I'm pretty sure that I"m getting you an astronomy book. (Note--the kid does basically know OUR solar system inside and out) But mom, I know that stuff. Ask me the hardest question you know. Me (tired): What is a star? Him: a ball of gases and something else??? (I don't remember!;0) and they don't really twinkle. It's just the earth's atomsphere that makes them look like they twinkle. I know all about the sun and sun spots. And did you know that the sky is only blue cuz of the sun reflecting off of the ocean?

Me, thinking, great, now what.........ROTFL! No, really I want to focus more on the stars and moon cycles and stuff. I know he knows a bit aobut that, but not alot. And maybe what stars are where/etc.

Could you start teaching him about the impotance the moon cycles played with the Israelites and determining the feasts? I might be able to point you in the direction of some good online teachings or books about it
